I have so many parents ask about this!! "My kid hates writing." "My kid's handwriting is so messy." "How do I get them to write sentences/paragraphs/more legible?"

The answer is through PLAY! Play dough, building blocks, tracing shapes, making jewelry, cutting with scissors, using a spray bottle to help clean. And most importantly, through natural age-related development.
