1996 McDonald's Ronald McDonald Whistle, a vintage sound-making toy from a Happy Meal set.

It was part of a 1996 "McDonaldland" musical toy set that also included a Hamburglar noisemaker spinner and a Birdie harmonica.

Funshine Bear was one of the original lineup when Care Bears exploded in the early 1980s. His belly badge — that smiling sun — wasn’t random. Each bear had a symbol that represented their personality, and Funshine was optimism. Energy. That bright kid who never slowed down.

Care Bears started as greeting card characters in 1981… and by 1983 they were everywhere — plush, cartoons, lunchboxes, PVC figures like this one.

For collectors, these small vintage figures are special because:

They were heavily played with.

Paint wear tells real childhood stories.

Complete early figures are getting harder to find clean.

Personal Collection Peek 👀 (NFS)

Born in 1981.

These are the figures that were on my bedroom floor in the mid-80s.

Kenner’s 3.75” Star Wars line (1983–1986 era) defined an entire generation. Small scale, big imagination. No screens. Just battles on carpet and worlds built out of couch cushions.

This Darth Vader still has the vinyl cape. Squid Head is from the Return of the Jedi run.

These aren’t mint.
They’re played with with my own hands.

And that’s the point.

Some toys aren’t inventory.

Some are memory.

These are vintage 1999 Warner Bros. Animaniacs Yakko rolling ball which were part of a Wendy's Kids' Meal promotion.

The toys feature the character Yakko Warner sitting on a purple ball.

They were released in 1999 as fast-food premiums.

The ball has "The BIG Cartoonie Show" logo printed on it.

The figure on the ball is weighted and designed to spin or wobble.

Vintage 90'sThe Lion King character figures

One of the reasons The Lion King toys have aged so well is that the characters were designed with strong silhouettes and big personalities. Even as small figures, you instantly recognize who’s who — that’s great character design, and it translates perfectly to toys.

Wild Eye
1991 Galoob Trash Bag Bunch

Late-80s / early-90s toy lines loved getting weird — bold colors, strange creatures, and designs that didn’t come from a movie or show you had to know first. This guy is a great example of that era: hand-painted details, exaggerated features, and a look that feels more like imagination than branding.

Figures like this are fun to collect because they represent a time when toy companies took risks. They weren’t trying to be realistic — they were trying to be memorable. That’s also why so many of these ended up lost, broken, or mixed into bins over the years.

Survivors with clean paint and all their parts quietly become favorites among collectors who appreciate character over hype.
