Blue Ridge Repair Cafe had an awesome day making repairs at Blue Ridge Community College today. Here are some of the items we repaired. My thanks to all the volunteers who came out to make the many repairs today. Sewing repairs included heming pants, sewing curtains, repairing shirts, knee pads, shoes, carry all bags, sweaters, and more. Knives were sharpened, cd player repaired, electric tea pot operational, lamp repaired, radio repaired and much more. Our Repair Cafe makes such a difference. It was great to see so many things saved from the landfill.

The next Repair Cafe will be April 16, 2026 at Blue Ridge Community College library in Flat Rock from 3:30 to 6:30pm. Bring your items be repaired. We repair and teach repairing on clothing, electronics, small appliances, lamps, and odd items most people don’t think can be repaired. Give us an opportunity. Don’t toss it, repair it. You never know we might just get it working for you.

Today Blue Ridge Repair Cafe was at Etowah Public Library making repairs. We had 10
volunteers makings repairs of all types. We hemmed pants, fixed jackets, repaired zippers, sewed up holes, repaired a mixer, vacuum, quilt, created a camping cover for cushions, worked on a hair dryer and more. It was a great day. In all 26 people came with 43 repairs of which we repaired 41. That makes 95% of the items brought to us repaired at no cost.

We had a great Repair Cafe at Cedar Mountain CANTEEN. Sewing was done, electrical work done, and electronic items were looked at. Three pairs of jeans were returned to their cozy wearable condition. A stuffy had a hole sewn up to prevent any accidents and returned to full huggable condition. A heater repaired, a lamp rewired, a VCR opened up and looked at. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the parts to restore it to working condition. A small chest of drawers was repaired and our volunteers were extraordinary as usual!!!! Being a part of returning things back to working order is such a joy and gives us satisfaction. Seeing smiles on peoples faces is so rewarding.
