Y'all ain't trying to hear me But I will say it anyway. Respect BACK IN THE DAY used to be one of the most sought after things in a person's life.
Today its the freedom to live my own life.
Once upon a time....... We learned about respect from our parents who passed it down to us because it was passed down to them from their parents. Now we could argue all day about individual exceptions but overall THERE IS NEVER A GOOD EXCUSE TO BE DISRESPECTFUL TO YOUR PARENTS.
Today we see the world in a crazy whirlwind of self expression and bad decisions because the respect is dead or at best dying. There used to be a time when our actions our speech our refrain from certain behaviors was the result of respect for our elders our upbringing our family traditions. The phrase "As for me and my house" no longer has meaning in today's society. Now days people just don't give a f@ck. Everything is do as you please, do as you feel and we actually celebrate the freedom that we watch young people enjoy. but that freedom is the lack of respect and standards that is ripping apart the foundation of family unity, and without that we have no moral compass to guide us in our decisions. Today the people wanting to be respected don't show respect for anything or anyone.
Even the churches are dropping their standards. You no longer have to dress up to go to church it's come as you are. But it was not about the clothes it was about showing respect for the place by putting forth an effort to look your best to put you in a mindset to be your best...... But that's dead too. Today most people don't even have church clothes.
So what we do have today is no loyalty no family structure no honor and no leadership in the community. Unity can never be an option when the loyalty for respect is no longer a choice.
