Our first ever MIH! 🥹
I have so many thoughts, and it’s hard to condense them into a single post!
We are only 2 years into our journey as a small business, and I’ve learned so much along the way. I would be lying if I said there haven’t been moments where I questioned whether I could keep doing this. Running a small local clothing business comes with a lot of challenges, especially when we choose to do things the way we do. Every piece is designed, cut, and sewn in Hawaiʻi. We create our patterns from scratch, and every single garment is individually quality checked by us before it reaches our customers. There are easier ways to do things, but supporting local manufacturing has always been important to us. My mom and I are a two-person team behind it all, and when event season comes around, we’re lucky to have the support of our amazing family and friends 🩷
That’s why this weekend meant so much to us. To everyone who came out to support us, waited in line outside, woke up early to make sure you got the pieces you had your eye on, or even just stopped by our booth to take a look, THANK YOU 🙏🏼 Every purchase, every kind word, every share, and every conversation means more than you know. When you support our business, you’re also supporting local manufacturers, local seamstresses, local creatives, local models, local fabric suppliers, and so many people within our community. Thank you for allowing us to continue doing things this way.
Because of that support, it only feels right to give back in the same way our community has shown up for us. While my social media has been focused on the Made in Hawaiʻi Festival, the communities affected by Hurricane Lala deserve our attention right now. We will be donating a portion of our MIH sales to direct mutual aid efforts for those impacted by the devastating damage caused by the storm. I’ll also be sharing resources for anyone who has the means to donate, volunteer, lend a helping hand, or simply help spread information.
Mahalo for supporting our small business. Without your support, none of this would be possible 🤍
