Adorable functioning cafe curtains for a newly renovated bbq restaurant. Custom hardware with center upright supports due to the wide expanse. Eight windows with two pair per window to offer flexible functionality = 32 panels! They look great and, as all of our commercial projects require, are treated to meet fire safety regulations.

Reveal! This ring bearer pillow for a recent wedding was created from three generations of jewelry from her grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Closeup photos show the embroidered flowers from her grandmother's wedding dress, accented by alternating crystals and pearl details from her great- and great-graat grandmother.

I tested out the embellishment for the boxing, alternating pearls and crystals, and then added tiny pearls to the flower edges. You can see the progression photos, which I submitted to my client for approval. So happy she liked the "more is better!" approach.

The cording from a table runner was handsewn to the top boxing, and the table runner's embellished top was used as the top of the pillow.

A satin ribbon was used to create a heart shaped detail, accented with treasured tiny pearls and their chain surrounding the center pearl and heavily secured for safety.

The back featured a pocket for the pillow's Legend,
(shown in these photos) outlining the provenance of each embellishment. This space also allowed room for a sweet note to the bride from her grandmother, and also a special poem describing the contributed items and the meaning of the day and thought behind the pillow (included in these photos).

it was fun to share in this special heirloom creation and my client (and the bride) was thrilled with the finished project.

Window seat cushions are so popular these days! This lively Spoonflower fabric is fresh and sweet.

The boxing is pattern matched to the top of the cushion for a smooth flowing pattern visually and for continuity.

A few weeks ago we installed these panels and scalloped valance for a sweet client in her new home. We adjusted the treatments to fit the new window size, and changed the scalloped hem band to a softer pink fabric to coordinate with new furnishings.

Today we installed drapery panels and a sleek tailored valance with a contrast insert band to coordinate with this new wallpaper in her soon-to-be-born son's room! We planned the new valance and panels to coordinate with the existing functional roman shades.

So excited to win two awards at the annual IWCE (International Window Coverings Expo) Grace Awards, held tonight in Raleigh, NC.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, but a friend sent me realtime updates! First place in Decorative Hardware and Trims for the adorable little girl's nursery, and Second place in Outdoor Living in the Artisan category (designed by Welcome Home Designs and fabricated by me of SK Designs. Thrilled to be recognized by industry leaders and looking forward to the magazine publication and photos soon!

I'm excited to be a finalist in the window treatment industry's Grace Awards! I entered a few projects, including this sweet little girl's nursery. We won't know which projects won until the conference Gala in April. Fingers crossed 🤞!
