This was such a rewarding project - creating this sweet bassinet ensemble for a client. She used this wicker bassinet for her girls - now she has her first grand baby and he will use it, too!

So thankful to take part in the for the second year in a row! Highlights from the day: 1) seeing familiar faces come by and sharing smiles and hugs 2) having three customers from last year swing by with their CAEN handmade bags on their bodies & sharing how happy they are with their purchases 3) meeting new people and seeing them excited about items I have poured my heart into 4) seeing those items head to their new homes with happy new owners

College living has changed a bit since I was in school! I was asked to create five pillow covers with zipper closures to accent this beautiful room at the new Chi Omega sorority house at BAMA (I think it’s BAMA!). It’s so fun to see the finished product! What a beautiful space!

One of my favorite parts of alterations is helping my clients feel more stunning, more comfortable, & more confident in what they wear. Recently I had the pleasure of altering two bridesmaid gowns - for two mamas - both recently postpartum. Bodies change after having a child - and offering final fittings right before the wedding dates helped assure a great fit. Both the weddings were this past weekend. It made my heart so happy to see these pictures of my beautiful clients in the dresses I altered for them! To know I was a tiny part of them feeling amazing on such a special day brought me such joy! Thanks ladies, for trusting me with these alterations!

Spent the afternoon fixing things…. Altered a too long button down for a client. Shortened two dresses for another. Then on to this ink stained pouch. A client didn’t wanna toss it aside - I told her I could try to hide the 1.5” spot. I came up with this solution: a brown circle of leather, a nearly matching mustard color faux leather, and a button from my button jar to finish it off!

Finished this gem this morning. It’s an oversized crossbody (bag dimensions:
15 inches (height) and 9.5 inches (width)) This bag is designed to stay in place on your shoulder as you wear it - no slipping or sliding off. It’s big enough for an extra sweater, knitting project, a towel for a quick summer swim.

This bag boasts FOUR zipper pockets! I adjusted the original pattern a bit - enlarging the front zip pocket to span the entire width of the bag. I added a large zipper pocket (also spanning the width of the bag) in the back exterior and there are two small zipper pockets inside (one on each side). Plenty of spaces to have a place for everything & everything in its place!

It was my first try using faux leather. It was fun to work with & has a great texture and weight.

I won’t be selling this one because it isn’t perfect, but it will be used as a sample bag.
