Vía Míchell was created to connect emerging Latin American designers with people in the U.S.—designers with stories woven into their brands.
One of them was Valen, the soul behind a beautiful linen brand called Soul. A model from Cali, she lived with a chronic illness—but through difficulty, she reinvented herself. Not only did she model for other brands, she created her own: a stunning linen line that some of my clients still cherish today.
A year ago, she opened up about how Soul was born from her journey, and we spoke about plans we dreamed of doing together. I was deeply moved by her strength, her calm spirit, and the gratitude she carried despite her struggles.
Yesterday, Valen left this earthly plane—a beautiful woman, inside and out, who created with heart and purpose. But her legacy remains, reminding us that life is fragile.
Fly high, Valen. You are the light heaven was waiting for. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones 🙌🙏❤️‍🩹

As we approach our first anniversary since opening Via Michell in December 2023, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us. Our mission is to serve as a platform for emerging Latin American designers, and in these months, we have built a community of hardworking women who appreciate the quality and unique designs that Latin American craftsmanship offers.

As a woman entrepreneur, the journey has not been easy. Unlike consignment stores, we purchase products directly from designers, handpicking each piece during our travels. We are committed to investing in Latin American talent and covering all export costs to bring these exquisite designs to you.
