Men's Textile Collective Foundation

Men's Textile Collective Foundation MTCF brings hands-on textile arts to everyday mental health—breaking gender stigmas and dismantling barriers to care.

Based in Houston, we build inclusive, creative spaces where everyone, especially men, can heal through structured craft. Our founder, Brice Gaston is a disabled United States Airforce retired veteran, discovered firsthand how powerful crafting can be for mental health. That’s why we’re especially passionate about helping veterans and first responders discover the benefits of textile therapy. Throu

gh our projects, we’re not just crafting—we’re building something bigger: a community that supports mental wellness. Plus, a portion of our proceeds goes to veteran and first responder charities.

High-stress service takes a heavy toll. Piece by piece, textile art helps clear the noise and frame a space to decompress and rebuild.

First responders carry extraordinary weight every day, and finding a grounded space to process that tension is essential. Crafting gives the mind a structured, hands-on outlet to step away from the noise, shift out of survival mode, and focus on steady creation. Engaging in therapeutic textile arts provides practical, constructive mental health tools designed for daily emotional regulation and resilience.

You do not need prior experience to start building your calm. Our community tables offer a safe, inclusive environment to slow down and focus on tactile work.

Words aren't the only way to process what you feel.

Fabric, color, and texture give voice to the unspoken. When traditional conversations fall short, hands-on creation allows you to release tension and structure your emotions without having to find the perfect words. Engaging in therapeutic textile arts provides a practical, grounded outlet for deep personal expression.

You do not need prior experience or technical background to begin. Our creative wellness workshops offer a safe, welcoming space to explore raw materials, learn the basics, and start putting the pieces together at your own pace.

Build your story in thread. Pull up a chair to our tables, pick up a shuttle, and start crafting your own blueprint for daily calm. 🧵

Hey fiber family, can anyone identify what technique was used to create the strap for this bag?

Contemporary Handweavers of Houston or Bay Area Weavers and Spinners is this a form of weaving?

Happy 2nd Birthday to the MTCF community! Two years ago, we set out to build a grounded space where tactile creativity meets genuine mental health support. Today, looking back at everything we have crafted together, it is clear this blueprint is only just beginning to take shape.

This video is a celebration of every stitch, every late-night draft, and every person who has pulled up a chair at our tables over the past 24 months. You have turned a simple vision into a vibrant movement, proving that therapeutic textile arts are essential, constructive mental health tools for everyone.

As we step into Year Three, we are laying the foundation to bring mindful weaving and stitching into the mainstream. We are expanding our footprint, broadening our community reach, and breaking down every remaining barrier between you and the therapeutic power of fiber arts.

Thank you for building this sanctuary with us. The frame is up, the structural foundation is solid, and the future is looking incredible.

Here is to the next chapter of hands-on healing, shared mastery, and radical accessibility! 🧶📐🏗️
