Happy 49th birthday to former University of Miami offensive lineman Robert Hall. Hall is pictured below in action during a 23-12 victory over Ohio State in the 1999 Kickoff Classic at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. A graduate of North Shore High School in Houston, TX, Hall originally came to Miami to play tight end. He began his career wearing #85 before moving permanently to tackle. Hall played for the Canes from 1996 to 1999. He was among the first UM players during the Butch Davis era. Photo by JC Ridley.
During his college career, the Miami football program struggled with depth issues, due to the loss of 31 scholarships from NCAA sanctions. Hall was a 2-year starter and contributed to the rebirth of UM football. He was part of an offensive line that helped Edgerrin James set a school record 299 yards rushing against UCLA in 1998. Hall currently owns his own apparel company called Alumni Apparel Company.
