There’s a moment I look forward to every time someone tries on our boots.
They slip their foot in, stand up, and take those first few steps. Then comes the “Wow.”
That moment means a lot to me. Behind it are fifteen years of learning, adjusting, and trying again.
Folks usually notice the leather and the design first. But once they put the boots on, they discover something deeper, what I call the soul of the boot.
It starts with the last, the foot-shaped form we build each boot around. Over the years, I’ve personally taken thousands of measurements. Every customer has taught me something about fit, and I’ve carried those lessons back to the workbench.
Little by little, those lessons have shaped our lasts.
Then comes the pattern work. In our process, twenty two patterns come together, each developed around the last. Every curve and every connection matters. Even a millimeter can change how the pieces meet and how the finished boot feels.
I’ve spent more than ten years refining those patterns. Testing each size. Making corrections. Going back to the drawing board when something wasn’t right.
That’s why keeping the work under one roof matters so much to me. We can follow those details all the way through, from the first lines on a pattern to the finished pair.
When I look at these pictures, I see years of lessons spread across a workbench.
That’s bootmaking to me: a little science, a little engineering, an artist’s eye, and a whole lot of patience.
My hope is that you feel that care with your very first steps.
And when you look up and say, “Wow” well, that’s fifteen years of work speaking for itself.
