The Nevada State Penitentiary used to have a casino for inmates
Gambling is such a massive industry in Nevada that even the state prison had a casino for 35 years. Yes, that's right: inmates could play blackjack, craps, poker and even bet on sports in the Bull Pen, a stone building on the grounds of the Carson City prison from 1932 to 1967. That year, the new warden from California closed it, saying gambling was “degrading” to inmates.
