As of September 2021, we have merged with our other boutique in the Heights and have expanded to offer a Design Studio for custom creations! At the end of 2015 as a foundational community business shut their doors, my partner, Pup Tank, and I immediately reached out to secure the space to open... something. Something to fill the hole that was left in our community and left in the hearts of so many
. We knew we would need to step up to the plate with something unique and focused on the community, so we fell back on our roots. And both myself and my partner have one thing in common: We are Forged In Kink! We first opened the doors inside Ripcord and started with a very small selection of items that were chosen to with our community in mind. Quality, construction, and price were our driving factors as we created many of the leather goods. As for the accessories, we turned to local vendors to provide a selection that could only be found in Houston. From traditional leather goods to steampunk inspired jewelry, we wanted to not only please but surprise our community. Over the years, we have expanded our selection and opened our main store location next door to Ripcord. We have added famous brands, bo***ge furniture and equipment, and custom leather crafting. We have employed only folkx from within the local community, to make our store a friendly, familiar, and welcoming space. We even ran a free leather restoration program in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Because, like my partner and I, Houston is Forged In Kink.
