The Beautiful Tragedy of Letting Go…
I’m still breathing in the ghost of you, and honestly? It’s exhausting.
People talk about "moving on" like it’s as simple as flipping a switch, but they don't see the late nights where I’m holding my own hand just to feel something familiar. I am still hopelessly, violently in love with you. Every song, every street corner, every flicker of a shadow carries your signature.
But here’s the cold, jagged truth: I love you enough to be the villain in your story if it means you finally become the hero of your own.
Why I’m Staying in the Dark
I could call you right now. I could let you crawl back into the comfort of us, and we could drown in our beautiful, stagnant mess all over again. But that’s not love—that’s a hostage situation.
• The Comfort Trap: If I stay, you’ll never have to face the silence that forces you to grow.
• The Catalyst: Sometimes, the only way to bloom is to be planted in the dirt, alone.
• The Sacrifice: I’m choosing the agony of your absence over the guilt of holding you back.
"I have to be the wall you can't climb, not because I want to keep you out, but because I need you to learn how to fly."
The Reality Check
So, I’ll keep my phone face down. I’ll let the "I miss you" texts die in my drafts. I’m playing the role of the one who walked away, the one who’s "strong," the one who "found peace."
In reality, I’m just a spectator watching you from the sidelines, rooting for a version of you that doesn't need me anymore. It’s the ultimate paradox: I’m staying away because I want you to be better, even if "better" means you never come back to me.
Stay wild. Grow teeth. Become everything you whispered about when we were lying in the dark. I’ll be over here, loving you from the wreckage.
