I have gained quite a few new followers so I thought I’d reintroduce myself to all of you.

My name is Amy, I am a costume maker for over 10 years now.
I began sewing when I was 5 years old making clothes for my stuffed animals. My Oma(grandma in Dutch) thought me the basic alongside my mom and it grew from there.

I started Amy Lê Atelier back in 2021 to document and share my journey making Belle’s yellow ballgown. Since then I have undertook some other big costumes like my Christine Daaé costumes from Phantom and some of the Riverdance dresses. I also have begun dabbling in the historical costuming side as well, and I can’t wait to share my findings.

I also take commissions on costumes when my schedule allows.

I’ve embarked on a new sewing project, which involves more dying of fabric, and yes creating some Riverdance fabric (yes I call it the Riverdance fabric) for the last time. This fabric takes about 12 hours to make. Not including the time that is needed to steam set the fabric (which is about 3-4 hours)
I typically do it over a couple of late week nights and an entire weekend to make.

A sneak peak of the beading.

My dream sewing project is coming to an end. After many trials and errors with this costume and multiple tries. I’m so happy how it’s turning out. There’s a few things that I would love to change. Maybe I’ll revisit this dress again in the future cause there is always room for improvement.

In the next couple of weeks I will be doing a full cost break down for the first time. It will be interesting calculating the entire cost.

My dream sewing project is coming to an end. After many trials and errors with this costume and multiple tries. I’m so happy how it’s turning out. There’s a few things that I would love to change. Maybe I’ll revisit this dress again in the future cause there is always room for improvement.
