Hold onto your hats… For the first time ever, Teddy is coming to life! 🧢

After years of living in the pages of our books, discussion cards, and activity boxes, we finally get to meet Teddy in a whole new way.

Cheeky smile. Endearing mistakes. And the kind heart we’ve come to love. Teddy has always been about more than getting things right. He gives kids a character to laugh with, learn from, and see themselves in. And he gives parents a way to open up conversations that truly matter.

All this to say, a very warm welcome to the world of Teddy!

One of the 1st graders asked me a question this week that completely caught me off guard:

“You know the phrase, ‘all good things must come to an end’? What will the final Teddy in Trouble book be?”

I just stared at him for a second.

I told him Teddy’s adventures at the library, airport, and school are already in the works, but thankfully there’s no final book in sight right now. 😂

This was my last reading of the school year, and what a way to end it. The kindergartners surprised me with drawings of Teddy, and the 1st graders handed me the sweetest thank-you letters. So many of them told me Teddy was their favorite and thanked me for reading and signing their books. 🥹

When I first create Teddy, I just wanted to write a book series that kids and their grown-ups could enjoy reading together. But seeing children connect with Teddy in this way and make him a part of their world is something I will never take for granted.

Thank you SO much to every teacher, parent, and student who’s welcomed Teddy into your classroom this school year. Here’s to many more adventures ahead! . . . .

Every time I read Teddy in a classroom, something magical happens…
Kids feel seen, heard, and empowered.

We’ve had Taj’s friends (10yo) over every Monday after school this entire school year… and it’s been one of the best decisions we made.

Our only “rule”? No devices or screens.

And what unfolded was kind of amazing…

A simple hose turned into their favorite thing for two months straight.
Couch cushions became obstacle courses for another two.
And in between, they played every sport they could - basketball, soccer, football, baseball.

It’s not always easy (it definitely takes intention), but what comes out of it feels really special - the kind of play, connection, and memories that stick.
