ChezChaya I say, rules and pie crusts are meant to be broken

Every beautiful thing in my life started as something unfamiliar. The problem is that we want certainty before we take the leap, but certainty usually comes after.

Moving out. Starting over. Opening the door one more time. Buying the house. Becoming a wife. Becoming a mother. None of it happened because I had all the answers. It happened because I was willing to try something new.

The life you want might be hiding on the other side of a decision you’re afraid to make. Sometimes the only way to discover a new life is to be brave enough to take the first step before you know exactly where it will lead. ❤️

A delivery driver came to our house today… except he didn’t even have a delivery for us.

He noticed a package sitting on our mailbox in the pouring rain, walked it all the way up to our front porch, and even left a message on our Ring camera to let us know.

In a world where people are rushing, distracted, and overwhelmed… kindness like this stands out.

To the driver who took an extra two minutes to care about someone else’s package: thank you. You made my day. 🤍

Let’s make chicken steaks aka one of the most underrated weeknight dinners.

Chicken steaks are usually boneless dark meat chicken, often chicken thighs, flattened/cut like a cutlet. They stay so juicy, so they’re perfect for baking and breading.

For this, I’m taking:

3 eggs
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Salt
Soy sauce
Sometimes I add a little honey too

Mix that all together and let the chicken steaks hang out in there. Then dredge them in a mixture of panko and cornflake crumbs.

Spray the bottom of a real cookie sheet with oil, lay them down, spray the tops with oil, and bake at 350 for about 50 minutes, until golden, crispy, and cooked through.

This is such a delicious, hearty dinner. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and honestly one of those foods that feels like Shabbos food but also works perfectly for a regular Tuesday night.

There are things we inherit that aren’t written down.

Not recipes.
Not instructions.

Feelings.

The way a home feels on Seder night.
The way a table can make you feel seen, elevated… part of something bigger.
The quiet elegance. The intention. The presence.

Growing up, Pesach was always Malchus to me.
Not just beautiful… but meaningful.
Not just a meal… but a feeling.

And somehow… that feeling stayed.

So this year, I stepped into it.

The way my mother did.
I am my mother’s daughter.
Shaped by her home.
Shaped by her traditions.
Shaped by the feeling she created.

So I take what I was given…
I hold onto what matters…
and I build on it in my own way.

Because that’s what tradition really is.

Choosing what we carry forward…
and giving it over to the next generation with love.

Sarah won’t remember this night…but one day, she’ll feel it.

Set my Shabbos table with me as we chat about something I’ve been thinking about lately…

Life rarely looks the way we imagined it would. There were years I thought I was behind… behind in love, behind in family, behind in the life I thought I’d have by a certain age.

But life has a strange way of unfolding.

Sometimes what feels like a delay is actually shaping the life you’re meant to live.

Today’s little lesson: just because your timeline looks different doesn’t mean you’re late. Sometimes life is just taking its time. ✨

Welcome to my PR Corner 🤍
Let’s open this together… Day 1.

Not everything that comes in gets a spot in my home… but when something does, it has to feel right.

Today’s find: ✨
Clean, minimal, and honestly… made my sink area look like it has its life together.

Swapped out the clutter for something simple, elevated, and calm and I didn’t realize how much that would change the whole space.

Also… this tray? Staying.

If you love little upgrades that make your home feel prettier without trying too hard… you’ll get this.

All linked in my ShopMy 🤍 and I think I’m going to have way too much fun with this series.

Almond Thinnies ✨

These are the kind of cookies that disappear before you even realize it.
Thin, crisp edges, lightly chewy centers, and that perfect toasty almond crunch in every bite.
They feel delicate and fancy… but couldn’t be simpler to make.
Naturally gluten-free, light, and honestly a little addictive.

Makes about 22 cookies

Ingredients:
• 5 cups slivered almonds
• 1 1/3 cups confectioners’ sugar
• 4 egg whites
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• Optional: lemon zest or orange zest

Directions:
1. In a bowl, whisk egg whites, sugar, and salt until fully combined.
2. Fold in the slivered almonds until everything is well coated.
3. Spoon onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and flatten slightly.
4. Bake at 350°F for about 18–20 minutes, until golden.
5. Let cool completely before removing from parchment (this is key, they crisp up as they sit).

Thin. Crispy. Dainty. And way too easy to keep grabbing one more.
