Hello Jessup, 🤚🏼

On November 4th we are asking you to please vote for Gregg Betti and Robbie Martin for Jessup Council, so let’s take some time to get to know them, starting with Councilman Betti.

Gregg is the son of Patricia Sweeney-Betti and the late Kevin Betti, and the immensely proud father of Anthony Betti.

Councilman Betti graduated from Valley View High School 🎓 and Lackawanna County Vo-Tech before joining the 🇺🇸 United States Army, serving 3 years active duty and 18 years in the Army Reserve. 💪🏼Gregg retired from the Army in 2003 after attaining the rank of Captain in the Engineer Corps.

Gregg graduated from Marywood College 👨🏻‍🎓with a degree in Elementary Education. He then worked for and retired from the Lackawanna County Commission on Drug & Alcohol Abuse. An incredibly hard-working man, Gregg also owned and operated Gregg’s landscaping 🪏🌳for 25 years. Currently, Gregg is co-owner of Capra Collina Winery 🍷and 1971 Plaza LLC.

Gregg has always been committed to helping his community. He is a member of the 🇺🇸American Legion, the 🇺🇸Jessup VFW, Queen of Angel’s Parish, the St. Ubaldo Society, the Family of St. Anthony 🔥, Jessup 21stCentury Association, Keystone UNICO 🇮🇹, the Jessup Lonza Club, and the Mid Valley Hunting Club.

Gregg has been a member of Jessup Council since 2018 and has been a consistent voice for the people of Jessup. If re-elected, Gregg will continue to advocate for a Jessup paving program to ensure that Jessup roads are 🚙 efficiently, effectively, and economically paved and 🚧 maintained. Gregg strongly believes that Jessup Council should be allocating a portion of the budget each year 🗓️ to paving roads so every road would be addressed periodically. Gregg will also continue to work to upgrade all of our parks 🛝 and find initiatives to expand recreational opportunities for Jessup’s residents. 🏡

Gregg is a good man who has both served his country 🇺🇸 and the people of Jessup. He believes in planning and 👀 looking to the future, so tax dollars are spent in a responsible and efficient way. We ask that Democrats, Republicans, and Independents consider voting to re-elect Gregg Betti to Jessup Council. 😊

The first Lonza contest in the books. What a day. Made possible by the amazing Jessup community and amazing friends and family. These are some of my favorite moments from the day. The Jessup 21st Century Association put together an amazing day block party. Jessup was alive and well. That’s the Jessup I know and love, and the town many deserve to be proud of. Saturday September 20th we are hosting the first ever Lonza contest in Jessup. We are grateful to be having this event in association with the Jessup 21st Century Association. There is plenty to celebrate along with the Jessup block party. We want to thank all of the participants for entering their Lonza and supporting this small event. There will be plenty of Lonza, merch, friendly faces and Jessup tings. What started out as a small “club” blossomed into something beautiful. A celebration and appreciation for a small town full of pride and tradition. I’m so grateful to have grown up in this town. The people are friendly. The food is like no other. The traditions run deep. When I started this club, I did not imagine all the support we would receive. Myself and my family help run this strange hoppy of mine. I make all of the merch, meaning we don’t use a big business to print these shirts. I print each shirt with love and more importantly pride. Not every shirt is perfect but it showcases a love for a town that I grew up in. I love Jessup and I hope you do too.

Meat us for The Lonza Contest ( https://www.facebook.com/events/s/the-lonza-contest/2062516764281862/ )
on Saturday, September 20th from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Station Park in Jessup!

Come on out and make your nonno proud. If you think your lonza is the best in Jessup, you make it better than us Jessup folks and want to compete - contestants will be required to provide 1 non-sliced lonza by the day prior to the event taking place. Each lonza will be sliced (very thin) by The Jessup Lonza Club the morning of the event to ensure neutrality. Samples of each contestant’s lonza will be spread out anonymously for event participants and general admits to judge and vote on. [Reply to this email or call/text Anthony Stambone III at 570-309-4193 to enter your Lonza.]

Contestants will receive 2 free admission tickets. Non-contestants can purchase tickets upon entry on the day of the event for $10/ticket. All proceeds will be donated to the Jessup 21st Century Association.

There will be live music from Joseph Barrese, wine vendors from Capra Collina and B&G Wineries, and food vendors all based here in Jessup! Oh, and plenty of lonza, lonza sandwiches and lonza merch.

There will be additional events taking place in Jessup on Saturday, September 20th, so Jessup will be the place to be! Additional events taking place are:
