Chandrelle Haynie started her career in fashion at the age of 27 when she started selling lingerie and novelties to supplement her income. She realized there was a need for plus size lingerie and hired her aunt who was a seatress to make the designs for her to sell at lingerie parties. At that time, Chandrelle wasn't a stranger to sewing because she use to sew by hand making doll clothes as she wa
s growing up. She asked her aunt to teach her and she worked with her for a year until her aunt succumbed to complications of surgery. Chandrelle gave up on sewing after dealing with the loss of her aunt and the failure of her business. In 2013, a dear friend tried to spark up her motivation by giving her a brand new sewing machine. She was given some fabric from Ghana and decided to make a full length maxi skirt. She gave it to a friend who took pictures in it and posted it on Facebook. The skirt got much attention and the order for skirts started coming in for Chandrelle. One of her customers just so happened to be a fashion show producer and invited Chandrelle to be a part of her show. That was when Drelle Nicole, Inc was created. Drelle Nicole is now a clothing brand that makes handmade clothing for men, women, and kids specializing in Afrocentric modern wear. Coming soon, Drelle Nicole will be launching their in home styling/make-over services and relaunching their line of lingerie.
