From an early age I could be found sitting behind my grandmother's sewing machines making potholders and eventually clothing. As a young teen, my mother drove me to sewing classes where I learned the sewing skills to make a lined pantsuit. In high school, I took a home economics class which taught everything from cooking to sewing. When it came to the sewing part of the course, I more or less was
teaching/helping my fellow classmates because of the skills I had acquired as a young girl. Throughout high school, I would make many garments which I wore proudly to school. When I married, one of my grandmothers purchased a sewing machine as a wedding gift for me. That machine made multiple crafted Christmas gifts from year to year and eventually it aided me in making bedding for a baby bed. As the years went on, my love of sewing turned into Halloween costume construction for my two children and a pair of curtains here and there. My children are now grown and I now have a grandaughter which I am passing my sew talents on to. She started to show an interest in sewing around age six and for her seventh birthday I purchased her her very own sewing machine... not a toy sewing machine, a real machine. When the pandimic hit in 2020 and face masks were in short supply, ETSY reached out asking shop owners to make masks. My granddaughter and I jumped into action and made many masks which were sold on ETSY. Now that the supply of masks aren't in such demand, we have turned our love of sewing into a pet business. We are now making things like dog bandanas, pet clothing and even aprons for chickens. We would love for you to check out our shop and give us a try! www.ETSY.com/shop/PoochesCloset
