Hermès is the epitome of luxury & this vintage Birkin wasn't just any old bag. It's the original Birkin, owned by Jane Birkin herself.
It was purchased by a Japanese businessman for preservation and display purposes.

$10mil USD is CRAZY though!

More items on display at the Arabia Steamboat Museum.
Not shown here are the hundreds of pairs of shoes also recovered.

All of these items and thousands of others were being transported to mercantiles and vendors when the boat sunk in 1856. Recovered 135 years later, preservationists salvaged what they could, and now these pieces of history are on display at the museum.

Unfortunately, the museum has to find a new home, so they will be closing in November. If you're in the Kansas City area, take some time to visit the Arabia!

Jewelry found on the recovered Arabia Steamboat , which sank in 1856. If you're in Kansas City and have the opportunity to visit museum, I highly recommend it. The museum will be closing in November, so don't miss it!

1960's collar necklace with dark brown, topaz, and champagne colored prong-set chatons and navettes.
Just under 17" long unclasped 2" wide at the widest part.
Unsigned, but it's similar to Weiss pieces I've seen online

Juliana Copper Fluss Milk Glass Parure (Book Set)

Julianna 5-link bracelet, necklace, earrings, and brooch.
Copper fluss milk glass (chalk white) navettes accented with champagne colored chatons.

This style was 1st seen in the early 60's and all 4 pieces can be found in "Juliana Jewelry Reference Delizza & Elster Identification & Value Guide”, by Ann Pitman.
They can also be found in the Is It Juliana Jewelry database under numbers 982 & 6483.

The bracelet measures 7.25" by 1" wide.
The brooch is about 2.75" wide by 3" tall
The clip-on earrings measure just under 1.5" tall and the necklace is 16" unclasped.

Absolutely beautiful and in excellent condition!
