Swimming in a Sea of Estrogen

I haven't been doing very much sewing lately other than a few hand projects here and there. One of the hand projects I've been working on is this Nature Bag.

I made a version of this bag for one of our friends' children, Ash, who is part of our LAP group, and they play a spring themed being named, "Spring Tyme."

I liked the bag so much that I decided that my elf character, Tessa, could use one, as well. I also wanted to practice hand beading since I have not done much of it.

I made Ash's bag at 100% scale, and I upscaled mine to 125%. They are meant to be worn similar to a f***y pack and have a large belt sleeve on the back in order to accommodate a belt.

Both bags are made out of medium weight 100% linen fabric in Evergreen from Fabrics-Store.com.

I cannot wait for our next LARP event so I can wear it!

London - Day 2: Dress Codes

There are no words to express how I felt at the Dress Codes Exhibit at Kensington Palace today. The experience was special enough to warrant its own post, so i will have two from Day 2.

The first item I came across was a men's court suit from the 1780s - the Georgians. It's my favorite time period. There was another court suit and gown in the King's State Apartments that was fascinating to see, as well. I also included a costume ball gown, one of Queen Alexandria's gowns, and some amazing bling.
