A happy home is full of dead people’s stuff 🖤🪦

We like to think of it as continuing their collections. Many of our friends beyond the grave who were collectors, makers, and scholars say they wouldn’t want their loved items anywhere else.

We treat each and every item collected as a prized possession, because for someone- either now or previously, it certainly was.

Here we share the beginning steps of our cleaning process for a few trinkets in preparation of the official opening of our estate’s metal gates; where Lakeland FL locals may enter to purchase whimsical dark vintage.

Unfortunately our previously scheduled soft opening was postponed due to unexpected delays. With an unforeseen hospital visit, we used this period to further our collection’s aesthetic appeal & spoke to some spirits who needed it the most. In just a little bit, we will invite you and other guests into the Black Swan estate to behold the many curiosities we have accumulated. 🧚

Our subject for today is approximately 6.5” wide by 8.5” long. Small frames are not the immediate priority while decorating to most but at Black Swan, we beg to suggest perhaps they should be. Instead of being considered a single fine detail, here is a list of tips of how you can use such frames to elevate your residence instantly. With love we present one of our many birds of the night. This couple includes two figurines with the confirmed Homco dual marking on their respective bases. As an official pair, they were sold solely through exclusivity, keeping Homco in the home goods spotlight long after competing retail businesses were unable to afford break-even necessities. Without shops to tend to, Homco reigned the 1970s by means of increased scarcity and communal connection. 🪾🌙

📍 We are based in South Lakeland, FL. It’s time to officially introduce myself and my intentions with this page.

✨ I’m Jenn and I have a background in the sciences. I’ve previously earned a bachelor’s in biomedicine and will be starting a professional doctorate in the fall. Aside from academics; I’m interested in art, oddities, history, curiosities, and spooky media (games, books, true crime, movies)!

✨ Black Swan Secondhand is my way of expressing and exploring these interests; it is my main recreational outlet. It serves as a mend between my adoration for retaining lost relics & creating grim fairytale artworks - all while keeping myself as financially independent as possible in the midst of my rigorous obligations.

✨ My vintage collection is an accumulation of the various estates I've visited & my personal formative tastes - such as brass, crystal, copper, and high detail works. I collect these items in honor of those, who for whatever reason, cannot continue to hold onto their possessions anymore. It is my way of connecting the ghosts of the past to the people of the present!
