Put a mic in my hand and I'll give you a TED talk ✌🏽Here's a little more color from my last post. It might sound like an emotional take but these are things that I never see anyone OPENLY speak about, it's only spoken about behind closed doors even though we are all struggling with the same point.

I do hope this sheds light on both small brands and also influencers/creatives. I don't want anyone to feel attacked but if this personally affects you, then it's time to look inwards. This conversation and call outs must happen. We cannot continue to hold on to this burden and look for one person to lead. Change occurs when a large scale starts to publicly acknowledge this.

And yes I know how I pronounce pedestal is incorrect😅

I’m leaving this post up because my DMs are blowing up. But the problem is- the same people venting in my inbox are staying silent in public. The only way we stop this exploitation is if we all start calling it out.

Everyday consumers don’t see the BTS entitlement from certain creators and “supporters.” We’re in a tough political and economic climate rn where everyone is trying to get by, people with 10k followers and even larger creators/“supporters” try to exploit small brands is exhausting and it needs to be called out. Hell, being back cancel culture (but bring the receipts if you’re engaging in that)

Brands need to start saying no. Unless your name is prominently featured on that giftbag or giveaway, you are getting ZERO ROI. Social media is a marketing tool. Sending out a free product—and let’s be real, it’s usually 50+ items—is a straight financial loss.

Look at your PnL. If you aren’t accounting for free product giveaways as losses, you aren’t effectively running your business. Stop allowing these people devalue your hard work.

I’d love to see more people speak about this. Go on in my comments here and talk about it rather than my DMs 😊 We can only support one another if we can effectively communicate and action it.

I am still so incredibly grateful for the amazing response to these handmade bags! 🥹 Another favorite moment was the custom bag charm station at our last two pop ups. You guys absolutely crushed making your own bag chains, picking through hundreds of charms to build the perfect line up—including our signature Khana charms.

Since both the bags and custom charms are pop-up exclusives, they won’t be available online. But good news: we’ll have a few more bags and all of our charms at our next pop-up this Saturday at .edit! ✨
