50 Nerds

50 Nerds Fans of artist, Corby Blem, that are purchasing one of his works to donate to his Alma Mater, Great Lakes Christian College. For some this is quite literal.

About "Checkered Past: Freshman Nerds, 1963" -

At a thrift store I found a 1963 yearbook in which everyone inside looked like nerds. Using that as my inspiration I decided to transform family and friends into a giant yearbook of nerds. The point being: all of us have an ugly past. Knowing we all can identify with a bad yearbook photo which anyone can see reminds us to

season our lives with grace. About Corby Blem -
Blem's outsider art training began with copying Hanna-Barbera cartoons in fourth grade. It ended there. What is laid now before you comes from hundreds of minutes of thinking about painting. Typically Blem may be seen peddling artware in the street, drawing caricatures of the unwilling, or learning techniques from the kids-at-heart he teaches during the Paint & Draw Workshops in beautiful Mt. Pleasant, MI. His 'House of Trite' is not just a funny phrase; it is a lifestyle.
