Worked all day yesterday fixing paint on the set. Show opens next week.

Technical Theatre success. A 9th grader showed me her shoe had come apart and where shoe had repaired it quite well with 2 small screws holding the strap to the shoe base. A skill , a tool, and a fastener she learned in my class. They actually looked good also.

Life hacks of the Theatre teacher. Re-purpose everything.
1. Plastic tubs and containers i.e coffee, Swiffer etc.. become paint tubs.
2. Wash clothes go from using in my bath to a little dingy to being used in the kitchen to being paint rags at school.
3. A roll of foil used over those odd paint cups and paint trays, cut down on re-washing them after every period especially when the last period of the day or tech club will be still working on stuff. Foil $1 a roll and I bet I save that much in wasted paint every hour of the day.
4. When mixing your own colors always more than you might need.
5. End of painting? Dump odd stuff together for primers. 1 dark and one light. Ready for the next show. I use 5 gallon buckets.
6. Keep your primary colors under lock and key to prevent contamination in the bucket. P.S always have primary's to mix in to get your own color.
7. Design your color palate around donated paint. Currently I have 15 gallons of Purple. So three shades of purple in this palate with browns and a purple hued brown. Oh and the gray with a purple tint.
