Those that know me well, know that I LOVE to ski. I find so much peace when in the mountains - over the years they’ve continued to bring my family together and bring so much joy.

Our parents instilled our love for the sport early on and we are trying to do the same with our children. That is why I am SO PROUD of my sister Kassandra N. Lemons for bringing her dream of creating a children’s board-book focused on skiing to life…

Y’all! Thank you so much for the support. We sold 129 copies since launching on Feb 1 and I may be in the little leagues, but I am really excited and grateful. Hi! I’m Ali...

For those of you that follow me on Instagram .no.bounds.books you will have seen that each Tuesday I try to take the opportunity to feature one of my fellow mamas, authors and friends. It has been such a FUN way to connect with people and learn more about their books and their inspiration for writing them. Now that my second book (PERFECT FOR THE SKIN YOU'RE IN) is officially here, I realized that I have never really shared much about myself. SO...I wanted to take this Tuesday to share a little bit about me...

🍋 I am a nomad. I was born in Germany and have moved 20+ times in my life thus far
🍋 My husband and I met when we were 5. Lost touch for 20 years and then reconnected when we were 25 (fell in love on our first date skiing at Alta - he is an awesome skier!)
🍋 My maiden name is Lemons
🍋 We have three tiny humans (5 / 3 / 11 months)
🍋 I struggle with mom guilt. I want to raise kind/strong/independent/caring/inclusive little people and I question myself (am I doing enough?) pretty much daily
🍋 I am a middle child
🍋 I have worked at Deloitte for 10 years and my day job focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion. Aside from being a mom, it is my dream job
🍋 I am an introvert. My job (and life as a military spouse) forces me to be more outgoing, but I 100% get my energy from being alone
🍋 I love nature and any sort of outdoor exercise
🍋 I played lacrosse at Vanderbilt (Go 'Dores)
🍋 I had 5 knee surgeries by the time I was 23
🍋 .dad and I are training for our first adventure race with .blueskies and hopefully will be going to the in Patagonia this year
🍋 My "uniform" is pretty much yoga pants and a puffy coat (I'm always cold)
🍋 Coffee and hot tamales (the candy) are two of my favorite things
🍋 I self-published ANYTHING I DREAM and PERFECT FOR THE SKIN YOU'RE IN (link in bio) and have no intention of stopping there!
🍋 I am left handed
🍋 We are huge star wars fans. Mostly because .dad doesn't give us a choice ha

IT.IS.HERE!!! I am so excited to share that my second book, PERFECT FOR THE SKIN YOU'RE IN is now available for purchase. This has been SUCH a labor of love for the last 11 months of my life. I literally bawled my eyes out when it arrived...😭❤️🤗

I have always dreamt of writing children's books and .regone helped make my dream come true when we partnered together for ANYTHING I DREAM in 2018. Creating that book helped ignite the fire in me to continue to write (and illustrate) and I am so very excited about this new book as it's near and dear to my heart. It features my pappy (grandpa Koala) who always instilled confidence in his kids/grandkids by simply telling us that we are perfect the way we are...each of us is unique...and each of us has special gifts within us...gifts that we need to share with the world!

Pappy was such a treasured and special man and his positivity and encouragement throughout my life is something I will always be grateful for. I am really excited to put this out into the universe right now as I believe in the power of prayer...I believe in the power of positivity...I believe in the power of inclusivity...and I REALLY want my kids to see (and share) the GOOD in this world. I want them to be their authentic selves and love themselves and others for who they were meant to be.

Thank you so much for following along with me on this journey. I have learned so much from this community and am thankful for you! If you're in need of book ideas to share with your kiddos or classrooms, I would highly recommend this one (and yes, I am aware I'm a bit biased here 😉).

Anything I Dream is Ali’s first book and it does not disappoint. She sends a strong, positive message that we can be anything we dream and to keep our minds open. There is playful rhyme throughout and the illustrations are great!

I can leave this review but the true audience is the kids. My twins loved the pictures and we had a lot to talk about. It was also great because it gave me an opportunity to explain and “play” some things with them that they didn’t know, like what an architect is. So the next time we were playing with our blocks I said, “look you’re an architect!” I love opportunities to build vocabulary!

A lot of times we don’t even know what we can be because we were never exposed to it. Speaking personally I always wanted to be a teacher because that’s all I knew, teacher or construction worker, and for a while I wanted to be an ER doctor or a physical therapist. I wonder if I was exposed to what else was out there when I was a child and had someone help me think about the pathways if I would have charted a different path.

Alas, I am here and it’s a pretty good place to be. Like Ali’s message, I’m plucking along to be anything I dream, and that has always been a writer.

2021 here we come! 🥳

My second book reinforces the fact that each of us is perfect, just as we are. We all have different traits and characteristics that make us unique and special...and each one of us has a myriad of gifts worth sharing with the world. 🌍💕🙌

My “day job” focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion and I wanted that messaging to come through in my books as well. So much power and positivity comes from allowing people to be their authentic selves! Let’s continue to teach that to our littles...to be who they are and accept others as they are...they’re perfect for the skin they’re in ❤️

Cannot wait for it to arrive! 🙏

‘Big Ernie’s New Home: A Story for Children Who Are Moving’ by Teresa and Whitney Martin is wonderful…and has clearly gotten a lot of use in this house!

As you may or may not have picked up on from some of my posts, we move a LOT! We are constantly moving and with a now 5, 3 and almost 1 year old…it gets harder and harder…but we grow more and more. I love this one because it helps us convey that moving can be TOUGH but all will be well in due time. It takes time to warm up to a new place and the feelings (sadness, anxiety, even fear sometimes) are all COMPLETELY normal! If you or your family are moving, highly recommend this one for your kiddo(s)…

‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ by the one and only is one of my favorites. It was gifted to me (and all other students) when I graduated from (what feels like 100 years ago). We are definitely suckers for rhyming books and this one has real sentimental value to me…but my girls really do love it…

If you are a fan, ‘Vader’s Little Princess’ by Jeffrey Brown is a hilarious! It’s definitely a bit silly but it speaks to the challenges Darth Vader faces raising Leia as she goes from a sweet little girl to a rebellious teenager. We aren’t quite in the teen years yet, but I can only imagine what it will be like with our two spunky daughters (mood swings...eye rolls...outfit choices (“it’s the style dad”)...all of the fun that goes with teenage girls...their little bro better get ready...and us too 😂).
