Behind LARYVEA — When the Fight Makes Sense
There is a song I love called Wolf Mode.
When I hear it, I don't think about fighting simply for the sake of fighting.
It makes me think about the moments in life when the fight makes sense.
I've fought many battles over the years that weren't for my own benefit. I've stood up for people and for things I believed were right, sometimes at a personal cost.
Not because I enjoy conflict.
But because sometimes walking away isn't the choice that feels right either.
I think we hear a lot about protecting our peace, letting go, and knowing when to walk away. And there is wisdom in all of those things.
But I also think there are times when it's okay to fight.
To stand your ground.
To protect something you've worked for.
To keep going when something matters deeply enough to you.
LARYVEA has been one of those things for me.
From the day I brought my business to Denmark, the journey has been difficult.
I fought to get it off the ground here. And when I finally did, another challenge began — one that ultimately led me to the decision to take my business back out of Denmark.
I'm still working through that today.
Walking away would have been easier.
But I knew what I had built. And I knew why I had built it.
LARYVEA isn't simply a business or a name to me. There is a mission and a vision behind it — one I still believe in.
So I chose to fight for it.
Not every battle deserves our energy.
But neither does every difficult situation require us to walk away.
Sometimes we can protect our peace by leaving.
And sometimes we can honor what matters to us by staying and fighting for it.
For me, this fight makes sense.
LARYVEA is worth fighting for.

Currently in testing: The Drift Set.

Part of the developing LARYVEA Flow Collection.

Some pieces begin with an idea. Others begin by simply living in them.

This lightweight jacket and trouser set has been part of our wear testing — worn, washed and experienced in everyday life to see how it feels, moves and holds up over time.

So far, it has held up well. But we're still testing.

For LARYVEA, a product being available isn't enough. It has to make sense for how women actually move and live.

Not everything we test will necessarily become part of the collection. Testing gives us the opportunity to experience a piece before making that decision.

Monday Moments — Before the World Tells Us Who to Be
This weekend, I went to a surprise birthday party.
Something I have noticed in Denmark is the way time together can feel so simple. We played games that reminded me of childhood. Adults laughed, children were everywhere, and for a little while, it felt as though everyone had permission to let their inner child come out and play.
I found myself sitting beside a mother and her three-month-old baby.
He was such a happy little baby. As I watched him, I started thinking about who we are when we first arrive in this world.
Before anyone tells us how we should look.
How we should behave.
What we should believe.
What we are capable of.
Or who we are supposed to become.
There is such openness in the beginning.
A child can be surrounded by different languages and begin absorbing them without first deciding that they are too difficult. There isn't yet that voice saying, I can't do this.
And it made me wonder how much of that openness we slowly lose.
We listen. We observe. We learn from the people and the world around us. Some of what we learn helps us grow. But somewhere along the way, we can also learn limitations—fear, comparison, expectations, and ideas about ourselves that weren't there when we began.
Maybe growing isn't always about becoming more.
Maybe sometimes it is about finding our way back to the part of ourselves that existed before the world told us who to be.
The part that was curious.
Open.
Unselfconscious.
Willing to try.
Perhaps the inner child isn't something we outgrow.
Perhaps it's something worth remembering.

Some pieces earn their place.

I had been wearing these pants long before deciding to bring them into LARYVEA.

I wore them. Washed them. Wore them again. And kept reaching for them because they were simply that comfortable.

Then women began noticing them when I wore them too.

That mattered to me.

I test many pieces, but very few become part of LARYVEA. I want to experience something for myself—to know how it feels, how it moves, and how it holds up—before deciding it belongs.

These did.

Soft. Comfortable. Easy to live in.

Monday Moments — Changing Direction

Sometimes changing direction doesn’t mean you were going the wrong way.

It simply means you’ve learned more, grown, and can see more clearly where you want to go.

There are times when the best thing we can do is recognize what is working, what isn’t, and have the courage to make a different choice.

Changing direction is not starting over.
It’s moving forward with greater clarity.

A little sneak preview of what’s to come. 🤍

Today, I’m working from home and testing pieces for the swim line as I continue building LARYVEYA.

For me, choosing a product is about more than how it looks. I want to wear it, feel how it moves, see how comfortable it is, and live with it for a while.

Some pieces will make it. Some won’t.

I’ve learned to appreciate this part of the process—the time to pay attention, make changes, and decide what truly belongs.

As La Rouge transitions into LARYVEYA, I want to be even more intentional about the pieces I choose. Pieces that have a purpose, that feel good, and that you’ll actually reach for and wear.

A new chapter is taking shape, one decision at a time.

After every storm, there is a calm.

We don't always get to choose the storm, and we may not get to choose the outcome.

But we do get to choose the path we take afterward.

Sometimes accepting what has happened gives us the space to see a different direction—one we may never have discovered otherwise.

Today, I choose to keep moving forward with peace, purpose, and gratitude for the journey.

The storm may change the path.

You decide where it leads.

A full life isn't only about what we accomplish. It's also about making room for faith, family, new experiences, laughter, and the simple moments that bring us joy.
