This time last year, Shop Near the Corner was almost closing.

The Brown’s had plans to expand, and I had no next step. No new space lined up. No “I’ll just do this instead.” Absolutely nothing!

People would ask, “So what’s next for you?” And all I could say was, “I’m not sure but I don’t think this is the end for me. Something else is going on. I just don’t know what it is yet.”

I could feel it deep in my bones.

So I prayed. I prayed when I was calm. I prayed when I was scared. I prayed when I didn’t want to admit how heavy it felt.

And I kept thanking God not because I knew the plan, but because I trusted He had one.

I could’ve shut the doors and called it a chapter. But I couldn’t Because I knew God wasn’t done with me.

I keep hearing, “Wow, you’re so lucky.” but this wasn’t luck.

This was God. This was blind faith. This was Him protecting me, leading me, and making a way when I couldn’t see one.

Little did I know I wasn’t about to close. I was about to grow. 🥀💐

Because all I’ve ever wanted was to make a difference. To build something that tells people, “You’re welcome here.” ☺️

So Thank You for every visit, every purchase, every share, every kind word, every time you chose The Market.

And thank you, God for being so good to me. ✝️
