Lithuania Strong was launched to provide a way for proud Lithuanians to fashionably demonstrate allegiance to our heritage. The designs are meant to show that Lithuanians are "overcomers" and able to thrive no matter what the circumstances. Being proud of our family heritage and giving others the ability to show their pride in Lithuania is why we launched Lithuania Strong. Lithuania Strong is a division of Old Tortuga Trading Co., which we started in November of 2012.

Lithuaniaโ€™s mountain bike orienteering national team finished the European Championships in Portugal with an impressive silver medal in the mixed relay event. The Lithuanian team โ€” Algirda Mickuvienฤ—, Jonas Maiลกelis and Ignas Ambrazas โ€” delivered a dramatic finish, missing gold by only 7 seconds and securing another major achievement for Lithuania in an extremely successful championship.

On May 30, 1950, the Soviet authorities destroyed the famous Three Crosses monument in Vilnius โ€” one of the cityโ€™s most important symbols of faith and freedom. Originally designed by Antanas Vivulskis in 1916, the monument was later rebuilt in 1989 during Lithuaniaโ€™s independence movement and remains one of Vilniusโ€™ most iconic landmarks today.

On May 29, 1981, the strongest tornado ever officially recorded in Lithuania struck the town of ล irvintos. With wind speeds estimated at up to 70 m/s, the tornado destroyed homes, flipped heavy vehicles, lifted a bus into the air, and left one person dead with dozens injured. The storm cut a path several kilometers long and became one of the most shocking natural disasters in Lithuanian history, with many details initially hidden from the public during the Soviet era.

On May 29, 1831, during the November Uprising against the Russian Empire, insurgent forces led by Antanas Gelgaudas achieved an important victory at the Battle of Rajgrรณd (Raigardas). The Lithuanian-Polish rebels surprised Russian troops near the town and forced them to retreat, capturing hundreds of soldiers. The battle became one of the most notable successes of the 1831 uprising and a symbol of resistance against Tsarist rule.
