Which animal was the ancestor of the tiger? 🐯

The tiger is known as the king of the beasts. It and the lion are the most ferocious and powerful carnivores on the earth, standing at the top of the natural biological chain. So where did tigers come from? What animal was his ancestor? Where did it evolve from? Many friends may think of saber-toothed tigers, but the current tigers and lions have basically no inheritance relationship with the ancient saber-toothed tigers. Although the origin of today's tigers has not been fully clarified, biologists generally believe that the earliest tigers appeared in China, that is, "ancient Chinese tiger (also called ancient Chinese leopard) which appeared at the end of the Pliocene or early Pleistocene period. The North China region of China has a history of 2 million years. This kind of tiger is smaller than the current tiger and is the ancestor of all tiger species today. The fossil of the ancient Chinese tiger was first discovered in 1924. The fossil was produced in Langou, Mianchi, Henan Province (the 39th excavation site), and later Chinese biologists translated it as "ancient Chinese tiger", so it can also be considered that all tigers originated in Henan Province, China.

Dance like nobody's watching. Tap like the earth is your dance floor.

“How can you tell a story through art? Well, you start by putting pen to paper, ink to canvas, rhythm to music, motion to movement, dancing on the floor. When Kyle Van Newkirk and Amani Mims wanted to collaborate on a project in which they could test the limits of movement in a Jean jacket, UDC Label took on the challenge to provide the clothing.

Inspired by the majesty of Africana, Van Newkirk set his heart free; tapping on a wooden board in the middle of a field of grass. The sun shone brightly upon them, and the dust was moved from the ground. Nature enjoyed what might have been a show; a true display of the rhythm of tap blended with fashion.”

“The Building Ship” was the First Large-Scale Artificial Water Project in Chinese History -Xi'an City 🚢 Naval Architecture

The Building Ship construction dates back to 120 B.C. It was an idea of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-AD 220), arguably the best military strategist.

Emperor Wu was popularly known for the building ship. He made the building ship for the sole purpose of water warfare and contributing to water supply and efficient water transportation.

The building ship is one of the landmarks describing Emperor Wu's military intelligence. A mighty sculpture of the Han dynasty boat with Emperor Han Wu on board sits at the square commemorating the history of this project.

Sibella was the Most Prolific Cheetah in South Africa 🐆

If Sibella was a human, she would be called a hero. Everyone who met her at Samara or read about her said she was an animal with outstanding attributes.

Sibella was born wild in South Africa’s North West province. Sibella nearly lost her life at the hands of hunters, but an NGO rescued her with ripped hind legs and a broken mouth. She got her life back after undergoing a 5-hour operation. She was a true fighter.

After the surgery, Sibella was flown to Samara Private Game Reserve for a new beginning. She started slowly reconnecting with the habitat. Sibella grew fast with time and successfully raised 19 cubs to adulthood. She overcame every odd to become the most prolific cheetah in the country, such a fulfilling life for Africa’s most endangered big cat.

The most memorable part of Sibella’s life was 2012, when she had her last litter of two cubs. She had wandered far into the bush for many days, and the reserve officials were afraid something had happened to her; she was old and fragile.

A team and visitors of the reserve went to search for her. She was spotted behind an orange tree, calm and gracefully looking for a wild cat in her habitat. She stood up and two little cubs, barely a month old, by her side. The sight was spectacular.

She walked towards the onlookers with her cubs and stopped a few meters away like she was giving them a show. She made a chirping sound like saying, “I have reached a milestone no cheetah has reached in a while; see what I have created”. Sibella was a wild cat badly tortured by man but never stopped creating offspring to continue her legacy.

Sibella allowed her cubs to play around her, giving the onlookers a moment they would never forget. After a few minutes, she sat down, stood, and waxed off into the bush. One of the visitors said, “This is my most magical wildlife experience!”

Kokwa Island, Lake Baringo, East Africa - Kenya 🏝🏖

Tourists from the diaspora like to experience the culture of the Njemps tribe on the Island of Lake Baringo and bird watching since there are more than 500 bird species in the area.

About 3000 people of Njemps tribe live in Kokwa. Since the area is rocky and not good for crop farming, the residence rear goats, fishing and sell their artifacts to tourists. The drastic reduction of tourists in the area has left them with economic activities being fishing. Over the years, Kokwa Island has split into three small Islands.

The Island is believed to be active because there are several hot springs. There is no electricity on the Island so many of the residents use paraffin lamps and solar energy at night.

Sunrise in Lake Baringo,Rift Valley, Kenya 🏝🏖

From 5:30 am to about 6:10 am, a beautiful sunrise can be spotted from a distance. Lake Baringo is about 270 km2 and is the second-largest Lake in Rift Valley, Kenya. The lake has seven Islands: Parmolok, Kokwa (Ol Kokwe), Devils, Samatian, Loncharo, Rongena, and Lokoros. There are also two seasonal Islands: Ngeten and Ruko.

Parmolok Island belongs to one man of the Njemps tribe who has five wives. Together, they have 27 children and more than one hundred grandchildren. Kokwa Island also known as Ol Kokwe, the largest island in Lake Baringo and is inhabited by about 3000 people from the Njemps community.

The island also has a primary school, mission-sponsored dispensary, and Island hotel (a tourist hotel that was destroyed by the rising water levels). The devil’s Island is not inhabited by people but it is a rock climbers’ haven. On the other side of the Lake, we have Samatian Island, also known as Willis Island.

The Samatian Island hosted the Samatian hotel which was also destroyed by the rising waters.

Loncharo and Rongena Islands is a temporary home for fishermen who camp there when fishing in the Lake. Ruko Island was used by the Ruko Conservancy to protect the endangered Rothchild giraffes.

An Exciting Encounter with a Sleeping Lioness 🦁 Naptime!

A lion’s life is filled with hunting, napping, and resting. After a heavy meal, the lioness takes a nap in the safest place up the tree. Enjoying a cool breeze and away from flies, she looks accomplished, happy, comfortable, relaxed, and sound asleep for sure. Right this time a tree is her home....home, sweet home indeed.

It is an exciting encounter seeing this incredible cat, fast asleep above your head. It is always a moment to remember. The massive predator in the Savannah looks just like a pet cat having a lie-in on its perch on a hot summer day.

Lions in East Africa are good climbers. Climbing trees and finding that perfect branch means undisturbed blissful sleep without worrying much about insects or heat from the sun. This position also offers them a vantage point from which to observe their prey.

Over 24 hours, lions have short bursts of fierce activity, followed by long bouts of lying around resting. Since lions have very few predators to worry about, they enjoy relaxing and lazing around, spending between 16 to 20 hours a day resting and sleeping.

Once done with the food hunting, and with full stomachs, they love lying around in crazy poses, like on their backs with their feet in the air, or legs spread wide apart! They can be spotted sleeping in an open, shaded area or under a tree. The choice of a sleep site depends on how much shade is available as well as proximity to a watering hole or profitable hunting and feeding areas.

The lion’s day starts at dusk and ends at dawn. Lionesses do all the hunting because they are faster and lighter than a male lions. She feeds her cubs and the male lion and rests to regain energy for another hunt at night. They hunt mostly at night as they have a good night vision. A lioness needs about 5 kilograms of meat per day whereas a male lion needs 7 kilograms.

An Encounter with a Bull Elephant 🐘🚙🍃 South Africa

Elephants are intelligent, inquisitive animals. They are always curious and want to get a closer look at people in their territory.

On our safari, we met an elephant bull in the middle of the road. We couldn't go further, so we packed right there. The bull noticed us and came in for a closer inspection on the driver's side and put his trunk on the steering wheel.

While we sat still and mute as a pair of crash-test dummies, the bull walked right up to the car and began waving his trunk over the hood and sniffing us.

We just sat there, dead still and he moved away but as he went he kicked the jeep with quiet aggression. Our hearts were literally in our mouths. After the kick, he moved to the back of the vehicle to investigate more.

The bull then came to the other side of the Jeep and stood there for a while before head rocking the car quite forcibly. This time, he moved to the rear view mirror and put his tusk through the bodywork.

It felt like it was all over for us. He was so close, that you could see the hairs on his eyelids and his trunk.

Then, as we watched, mesmerized, he dangled one big foot in the air in front of us and began swaying it to and fro.

Eventually, he got bored and lost interest in us. He then gave a stare, made low rumbling noises, wandered off to munch on some nearby branches, while we started the car and slowly rolled away.

This is certainly something never to forget!

A Little advice if you are faced with such a scenario, everyone should stay put and keep quiet. I repeat, stay still! You will emerge from such an encounter unscathed.

The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda 🍄🐉☯️⛩ known locally as Da Yanta (大雁塔), is located in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province.

Originally, it was a five-story attic-styled square brick tower in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong (649-683) of the Tang dynasty (618-907).

His wife, Empress Wu Zetian (690-705), added two more stories to the pagoda, making it the seven-story pagoda we have today. It has since been referred to as the gem of Chinese ancient architectural history.

This architectural gem is rich in Buddhist culture as it was built in a bid to consecrate the Buddha figures and scripts obtained by Xuanzang during his visit to India.

The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is an object of history, engineering, and religion at the same time.

The owner who bought eggs in Tiantian Market raised a Chinese pastoral cat, a yellow one called Daju.

Daju is very young Chinese Cat, less than 1 year old, but he is indeed a good player in attracting customers.

He will use his eyes full of wisdom to discover every potential customer, and he will greet customers kindly. Any customer who stops by the stall, the cat will quickly approach, rubbing at the feet of the customer, hooking people's trousers and people's hearts with its fluffy tail.

At this time, people will stop for the kitten. The merchant owner will immediately ask what do you need? Many times, people will buy some eggs at the vendor because of this quote from the vendor and their desire to play with the cat.

Daju will also be rewarded by the boss for attracting customers. In this way, the boss and the cat have formed a good cooperative relationship.

The world is so Big, but only China has Pandas 🐼

As early as 8 million years ago, there were already traces of the life of giant pandas on the earth, and their footprints were all over the world. Later, due to the constant climate change and the influence of the glacial period, the Pandas had to migrate to suitable places for survival. Inhabit the environment, that is, the mountainous area of today's Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu in China.

Pandas are China's national treasures; they have experienced the vicissitudes of life on earth and grew up in a long-term harsh natural environment. Although many countries around the world have panda pavilions, all pandas are rented from China, and the rental conditions are relatively strict. Not only do new panda pavilions need to be built, but also the edible bamboos need to be airlifted from Chinese planting bases. The annual cost to keep a giant panda is as high as one million US dollars.

Today, there are fewer and fewer carnivores. In order to adapt to the changes and survive, giant pandas have gradually changed from relying on meat to survive to relying on bamboo, and their size has become smaller and smaller.

In the past, giant pandas were carnivores. Due to the changes of the times, they had to eat grass. However, giant pandas still have sharp teeth, so giant pandas can also bite people.

Although giant pandas are docile, they will suddenly bite people if they are frightened. This is a basic reflex behavior. Therefore, when you go to the zoo to see pandas, you must pay attention to your words and deeds, and do not violate the pandas.

Due to the relatively low natural fertility of pandas and the short estrus period, it is difficult for them to naturally breed offspring. Therefore, once the panda cubs are born during the rental period, they must be returned to China.

This is why we all live together on earth, but only China has giant pandas.

Why does The Leopard Live in The Tree? 🦚🌳 A Moonlight West African Story

A long time ago, the leopard and the ram were friends. They were so fond of each other. They loved each other for their uniqueness. The leopard said he loves to see the spiraling hones of the ram while the patches on the leopard’s skin are the ram’s delight. Times went by, and their friendship was much envied by other animals. The leopard and the ram knew everything about each other, but none had seen the other friend hunt or kill its prey.

The tortoise is one of the envious folks; he swore amongst others to separate the two jolly friends. He knew both friends did not know how the other killed to feed. One day, he went to the leopard and said, “I saw how the ram killed his game today. He moved several steps backward and charged forward with full force to crush his prey with his hones. When you see the ram move backward, he is about to kill.”

The tortoise went to the ram also and said, “I saw the leopard hunt his prey today. He laid by the grass, looking keenly at his game, and sprang on it suddenly. Run when you see the leopard lie and gaze keenly.”

On a fateful day, the leopard invited the ram for dinner in his house. It had rained earlier, and the leopard's house was slippery. The ram slipped backward as he struggled to climb up the entrance. The leopard saw that, sprang up, and jumped on the nearest tree; he thought his friend wanted to kill him. Since then, the leopard still doubts the ram and lives on the tree. The tortoise had succeeded in separating them.

The moral is that friends should not keep secrets.
