💚MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH💚
As we come to an end of Mental Health Awareness Month, I would be remiss to not post about something I’m very passionate about. Mental illness is real. Depression is real. And su***de can be the final result when those two things go untreated. This means that su***de is preventable.
The sad part is we don’t talk about mental health and su***de enough in the Black/Brown and Caribbean community. Why?? We talk about fetes but not something that could save someone’s life?? There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’ve been quiet on this page the last few months because I’m prioritizing my own mental health. Because I have had suicidal ideologies, and I don’t want to die by su***de. So if I can say that without any shame, why can’t more of us? Why can’t we talk about su***de now instead of hearing about someone you know and love die from it. Wake up Allyuh! It’s PREVENTABLE!! Stop being scared to have the uncomfortable conversation and just ask. Stop ignoring signs and start encouraging therapy. If you need more help, DM me. I am trained, in the process of being state certified, and counsel for a living.
I hope this tips help you, and those around you. Below are some addition resources tagged as well. If you are a su***de loss survivor and grieving, you are loved and not alone 💚
