today we went to a festival right by where we took our engagement photos and it felt like a full circle moment
we are far perfect and our wedding party can attest to fights they’ve either witnessed, helped facilitate, or mediate as we needed to grow from young adults to eventually mom and dad
but here are the green flags I will never stop being thankful for
🟢 shortly after we started dating (we weren’t even official yet) you gave me your phone password without me asking because you had nothing to hide
🟢 you also shared your location because it wasn’t a big deal
🟢 as someone who has divorced parents and finds it easier to leave than to work things out, there is no one who has fought harder to be in a relationship with me
🟢 when postpartum depression morphed me into someone I couldn’t even recognize, you stood by your principles and stayed true to your vows: for better or worse
🟢 you work anywhere from 60-80 hour weeks and instead of complaining you’re tired, all you want to do is spend time with me and your kids, you always come home to me
🟢 you love and are obsessed with our kids as much as I am
🟢 you absolutely refuse to ever let me think or talk less of myself
🟢 you are honest of your shortcomings, live by your principles and with integrity, and never pretend to be someone you’re not or to be perfect
🟢 you never leave it at “that’s just who I am” because you have a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset
🟢 you’re not afraid of the hard conversations… instead, you live for them lol
🟢 although you’ve expressed that you’d like me to plan dates, you STILL planned all of our dates in december
🟢 even if it’s sometimes to a fault… you are honest
🟢 you wake up and choose me, every. single. day, even if we’ve had a fight, even when you don’t “feel” like it, and you show up
so no, we’re not perfect, but I am extremely blessed that I’ve found someone who does life with me—not just the good, but maybe more importantly: the bad and the ugly
