Sugar Candy Mountain was created out of a desire for a confluence of comfort, beauty, and community. It is a reference Orwell made to Heaven, but in our sense, a Heaven of nature and community that can be lived-in and brought from Big Sur to Manhattan. It is generated from the ideals of radical creativity, revolutionary beauty, and a future that is self-sustaining. Sugar Candy Mountain's garments

are made from natural fabrics and produced in California. We attend to details like french seams with the same love that we focus upon our timeless place where individuals exist in balance with their environment and their dreams.

Dear friends,As I wind down the life project of Sugar Candy Mountain, the clothing company, I’m not winding down the love I have for our wonderful customers. In fact, around here we just call our customers friends.
I’d like to let you know that your unceasing support and participation in our goal of outfitting humans in beauty and comfort is deeply appreciated and I want to thank you. It’s not easy being human, and I wish you maximum love and prosperity in your lives.

I’m honestly not sure what my next adventure is, (besides more gardening!), but I have some ideas. Since we’ve now confirmed our friendship, and we're in this life journey together, Bob Branaman, who passed away seven months ago. He left us a huge body of beautiful work that my family and I will be archiving and showing. Who knows, maybe Sugar Candy Mountain will become The Bob Branaman Foundation!

Anyway, don’t forget that we are one!

Dear SCM Community,When we started this company ten years ago, the notion that the production of clothing could be equitable and sustainable was just a kernel of an idea, and you helped put that on the map. Your patronage was just one small part of what quickly and endurably became a community of reciprocal support and love.

Our vision, and the designs and garments that we created, came out of love for the earth and the people that walk on it. That hasn’t changed! We just need a little more time to do some other things that align more with where we’re at, to turn down the volume so we can dance in our garden!
