Welcome to Olivia Inspirations

It all started when I was a little girl, my mother made all of my dresses by hand and taught me how to make dresses as well. As an adult, I’ve taken this talent to a new level and am creating custom dresses for girls from 3 months to seven years in age growth.

Olivia Inspirations is inspired by the birth of my granddaughter and to all the grandmothers, mothers a

nd aunts and friends or family members who love to see their little girls in a frilly dress. A dress to purchase and to enjoy.

I've designed custom dresses/apparels made with a variety of fabrics and trims using fabrics like satin, tulle, charmeuse, voile and trim like ribbon, buttons, lace to give you an array of different bodice, sleeve, and skirt styles. I know you will enjoy my dress just as much as I've enjoyed pouring my passion and creativity into every stitch.

This Black History Month, we celebrate the brilliance of Black inventors whose contributions shaped everyday life- and the world of fashion and garment care 🖤

Thomas L. Jennings was a pioneering inventor and the first African American to receive a U.S. patent. He developed a process called “dry scouring”- a groundbreaking method that became the foundation for modern dry cleaning and transformed how delicate garments could be cleaned, preserved, and cared for 👗

His innovation helped extend the life and beauty of clothing- influencing garment care practices that are still used today ✨

This Black History Month, we’re celebrating Black inventors whose brilliance shaped the world of fashion and garment-making 🖤

Today’s inventors are Garrett Augustus Morgan & Sarah Boone ⬇️

Garrett Augustus Morgan began his career repairing sewing machines, eventually opening his own repair shop and patenting innovations that improved sewing technology, including a belt fastener and early zigzag developments that changed how garments could be constructed 🙌

Sarah Boone, a talented Black dressmaker born into slavery, transformed garment care by patenting an improved ironing board designed to fit sleeves and bodices- making it easier to press intricate 19th-century garments with precision, care, and elegance 👗

Their ingenuity laid foundations we still build upon today ✨
