ished patterns. Emily lives in Louisville, KY with her husband Chad and a menagerie of 1 dog, 3 cats, 6 chickens, 1 rabbit, and about 20,000 honeybees. Aside from yarn, Emily loves both kitties and cupcakes.

It takes a lot of behind the scenes design work to make something ascute and functional as my Opossum crossbody bag!

It started out with a sketch, I drew over a picture of Sarah so I would have an idea of the size of bag I was going for.

Then I grabbed some scrap fabric and sewed up a sample on my sewing machine. This was the best way to figure out the dimensions of the bag in real space.

Next I created some more technical drawings for the manufacturer including different side views and detailed dimensions.

Then the factory came back with the first sample, the biggest issue here was that the baby bags weren’t bags, they were just stuffed plush! We then got a 2nd sample that was much better but still needed some color and detail tweaks. Finally we received the 3rd sample which is the bag we are going into production with! Third time is the charm!

The only thing changing from this sample to the final bags is we are upgrading the zipper to a custom branded zipper shaped like a trash can!

We’re vending at our only hometown event of the year this Saturday at VirgoFest! VirgoFest started because my friend Casey Powell and TrevSax have the same exact birthday. They’ve been hosting a birthday show together for like 8 years now and it has grown into a little mini music festival with lots of Virgo birthdays being celebrated, hence VirgoFest!

I’m a Virgo myself so Casey asked me to collaborate with him on the art this year and I really love what we created together! If you like the art too we will have stickers and acrylic pins available at our booth.

Virgofest is at Zbar on August 29th. Doors are at 6pm and music starts at 7pm. I’ll be there vending right at 6 so if you want you can come shop and then enjoy some music from lots of the Monster Crew including Casey and Trevin but also Ray Keys, Jordan Blase, and New Gunk.

We’ll have Clicky Cats, Clicky Critters and a bunch of pins and stickers on hand, let us know in the comments if there’s something in particular you’d us to bring! Remember this is the only time you can see us in Louisville or even all of Kentucky all year! See you then!

Back to school B-Grade Sale! The perfect time to deck out your backpack.

If you’re wondering what B-Grades are, they are slightly less than perfect enamel pins that might have scratches, smudges, missing enamel, or blemishes. They are still completely functional as pins. We are pretty picky about our pin grading so we are often the only people that notice the imperfection 😅

We sell B-Grades with at least a 30% discount and on top of that all of them are Buy 3 Get 1 Free so the savings can really stack up if you’re building a Pride Pal set! The B-Grade sale is only around through the end of September so shop it while you can!

It’s time for another installment of Kentucky has cool things, and today we’re talking about Thistle & Moon Louisville This gift store features exclusively local artists and everything is handmade or designed by the artist.

If you remember Aurora Gallery (RIP), this shop is run by Mia who was one of the co-owners of Aurora! And a lot of artists that were featured at Aurora like Emily O'Brien Irene Mudd Jenna Gordon A Stitching Witch LLC have stuff here!

You can find pottery, glass work, apparel, jewelry, stickers, wall art and so many amazing gifts here.

The space is small but so well curated it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Mia is very intentional about keeping the aisles nice and wide for accessibility.
