Hi friends, it’s been awhile! Six months to the day, to be exact. I really didn’t plan to step away for this long, but once I made the announcement to close our shop for awhile, the winds of change blew in hard and we were swept away by the bittersweet work of farewells and home sales and packing up our lives to start over in a new state. Nothing can quite prepare you for turning your life upside down this way.

The good news is that we are here, in Wisconsin! We arrived just before the end of summer, welcomed by family eager to have us back within arms reach. What a lovely feeling. We made it!

Now that the dust is settling, it’s time for me to face a difficult reality. Baby JackByrd, this little shop I’ve loved and tended to for the past seven years, doesn’t quite fit the same way in my life as it once did. I’m ready to get back out into the working world outside the walls of my home; meet new faces, explore new passions. You might even say that my happiness depends on it.

And so, it’s bittersweet when I tell you that I am closing my online shop. I’ll miss the work, I’ll miss sharing with all of you here in this space, but mostly I’ll miss my customers. This shop, my customers—you, have been an anchor for me through the wild years of raising littles. Thank you for the past seven years. Much love to you all. 💛

It's with mixed emotions that we announce Baby JackByrd is closing shop and moving our headquarters to the midwest. Colorado has been home to our family for many wonderful years, but we are ready to be a little closer to our roots for the remainder of our kids' childhood.

We had hoped to keep the shop open through Easter, but as our move approaches it's clear we need to dedicate our time and energy to preparing for our cross-country journey. Much love to our customers for the past 6 years of support. You made it possible for me (Leah) to stay home with my littles through their early years, for which I am eternally grateful.

Watch social media for our upcoming moving sales and the next chapter of our shop! 💛

Happy Friday, friends. ❤️ Just wanted to pop in to say I’m still here, quietly working behind the scenes. Thanks to all those who’ve placed orders recently—they’ve surprisingly been a nice respite from the heaviness of life right now. It took a little while for me to feel ready to step back in, but after that first difficult step of shifting my focus, it’s all felt easy, good.

I had planned to share more news in the way of Baby JackByrd after the new year—some changes to my personal life that impact this little business—but now doesn’t feel the right time. For now I’ll relish in these moments of joy creating sweet things for you all. More news to come eventually.

There’s still time to get an order in before Valentine’s Day if you’d like to. Thank you all for your support. ❤️

Easing back into work today, which even a couple of days ago felt like an impossible task. It’s been a difficult two weeks since the fire, but the way this community is rallying around their friends and loved ones is so inspiring. I received messages from my kids’ teachers today about the love and light and resilience shown by students this week. There is sadness and worry to be sure, but not without support and understanding. This is the soft place our kids needed to land, and for that I am grateful.

I also wanted to thank all of you once more for your support. Together we raised over $3000 to support those who lost their homes in the wildfire. Your show of love means so much.

So now I take the next step forward, which is returning to work. How fitting that these bitty felted hearts are what’s waiting for me… 🤍🤍🤍

Dear Community, you are amazing. The efforts put forth near and far to support our friends, classmates and community is unrivaled. Thank you to those who sent donations, money, gift cards, and love. We are just over one week from the wildfire and while I know the road ahead is long, I hope those displaced feel supported from beginning to end. Here are a few shots from our school, Coal Creek Elementary, and of the generous donations gifted by some of you. Thank you. 🤍

Thanks to all of you, we have been able to donate $1500 in gift cards so far. I have put them directly in the hands of some of the 45 families who lost their homes at our school, Coal Creek Elementary. We’ve hugged and cried and I hope this provides just a little relief to them amidst their devastation. Thank you. 🤍

✨DONATIONS✨
Friends, thank you for reaching out over the past few days. A lot of you have asked how you can help, where to donate, etc. As I mentioned before, the community at my children’s elementary school was hit hard by the wildfire. Over 55 children at Coal Creek alone lost their homes. I am working with a team of parents to collect gift cards for the displaced school families. If you’d like to contribute, I’m sharing my Venmo account. All donations will go directly to the families by way of gift cards. If you’d like to share gift cards you’ve already purchased, please DM me for an address. Thank you all for your support.
