Happy Sunday!
I posted a quick drawing video for longarm design on Youtube this morning. Practice is important, but sometimes just looking at it in a book is not as helpful as actually SEEING it being done.
I am a very visual person, and when I first started longarm quilting, I grabbed every book I could get my hands on only to find that the steps were not always easy to follow. It felt like:
"Ok first make this line, then make this line, swoop around and ... Boom! You're done!"
I would just stare at the page. It was not helpful and I was really discouraged. There are a few designers' books that seemed to speak my language, but it is not like my library carried them all to find out first. It wasn't until I actually watched someone practice their stitch outs on a white board that I got it. And I thought, why isn't this online?
So, I just wanted a quick (4 minute), quiet (no sound), reflective video out in the world to see if others found it helpful too. If you want to see more or have suggestions, please let me know.
