🧶 CRAFT FAIR QUESTION! 🛍️

When you go to a craft fair, what are you looking for?

💰 A great deal — you love finding something handmade at a bargain!

🧶 Quality over price — you’re willing to pay more for something that is handmade, unique, and made to last!

As a maker, I’m genuinely curious! Handmade items often represent hours of work, quality materials, and lots of love—but everyone shops differently.

👇 Which matters more to you at a craft fair: PRICE or QUALITY?

Tell me in the comments! I’d love to hear how you shop handmade. ❤️

Why do so many knitters dislike purling? Psychology may help explain it…⁣

1. Purling can feel less intuitive to some knitters.

Our brains become more efficient at movements we repeat. If the knit stitch is the movement you use most often, it can become increasingly automatic, leaving purling feeling just that little bit less natural.

2. Switching between knit and purl might actually be the problem.

Research into task switching suggests that moving between actions comes with a small cognitive cost. Constantly switching (as we do in ribbing) can interrupt our rhythm and make the process feel more demanding.

3. The knit stitch gets a head start.

For many of us, knitting is the first stitch we learn. That means our hands and brains have had more time to practise the movement before purling is even introduced. In motor learning, repetition helps movements become more familiar and automatic.

4. The 'purling is awful' story might be keeping it alive.

Purling has had a bad reputation among knitters for years. Psychology tells us that expectations can influence our experiences, so hearing that purling is difficult, slow, or less enjoyable may shape how we approach it.

Of course, plenty of knitters are perfectly happy to purl, but psychology may help explain why the stitch may have earned such a reputation.⁣⁣

🧶 Calling all my yarn-loving friends! 🧶

Does anyone have any Malabrigo yarn hanging around that you’re not using? Scraps, partial skeins, leftover bits from projects, or even those beautiful skeins you bought with the best intentions but still haven’t touched… 😂

I would LOVE to take it off your hands! ❤️ You get to free up a little space in your yarn stash, and I get to give that gorgeous yarn a new life in one of my knitting projects.

Before you toss those scraps or let them sit in a bin for another year, think of me! 🙋‍♀️🧶

Feel free to message me or tag a fellow yarn hoarder—I mean, yarn collector—who might be ready to destash! 😂

🎉❤️ **Happy 45th Birthday, Darrell!** ❤️🎉

Today I’m celebrating my husband, the father of our kids, my favorite travel partner… and, perhaps most importantly, my **favorite Christmas stocking liner installer!** 😂🎄🧦

Because true love isn’t always flowers, fancy dinners, and romantic getaways. Sometimes it’s watching your husband tackle one of your random holiday projects and thinking, *“Yep… that’s my guy.”* 🤣

Thank you for putting up with my ideas, joining me on adventures, making me laugh, loving our family, and somehow finding yourself recruited for projects you probably never realized were part of the marriage contract. 😂❤️

Life with you is never boring, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

**Happy 45th Birthday to the man I love — and may your birthday be completely free of stocking-liner installation!** 🎂🥳🎄

Love you, Darrell! ❤️
