Saturday’s art class was so fun, too dedicated to the project, Unfortunately- I did not get very good pictures, especially of the final art of the kids. We ran out of time with some complications! We made beautiful jellyfish sun catchers! The kids painted the cardboard surround with paint sticks, they then glued the center plastic with tissue papers -to catch the light. We added some eyes and silver highlights! They then made tentacles with ribbon, yarn and green goodie bags! Believe me when I say, the kids worked hard and made beautiful Jelly Fish!

Today art camp was a great success day our last day! I hope that my new friends had as much fun as I did! Today we rolled the dice to help us decide how many? How many lines to start with? How many circles to draw on top of our lines? How many colors to use? Roll the dice ! We drew our straight lines on our canvases with another canvas to use as a guideline- we then traced circles on top of those lines and then it was off to the races fill those shapes with our required amount of colors! So much fun! We then drew little pictures of whatever we wanted to make into key chains, Mr Lu helped everyone laminate our pictures - we cut them out and punched a hole and added colorful chains. Mom signs, name signs, hearts and much more! What a wonderful week of art! We also found our tshirts that we worked on all through the week. A “batik” process of using washable glue to make our design and after that dried well we covered our designs with fabric paint, those dried and then I washed them! They are so cute!

Art camp day 4 another success! Today we made mosiac lobster to beat the heat. Kids used corrugated cardboard tiles to fill in the lobster and then painted the background with our favorite paint sticks with great colors. Our second project was a sunset painted on a wood panel . Thanks to he help of Miss Marisa making some samples of size proportions we painted and blended our sunsets! Everybody did some thing different which is always so exciting! Great kids! So much fun

Our back-rounds! We then made our vases with highlights and shadows. The leaves were another layer and then cutout flowers and colored those with two tones! All items glued to our boards with cardboard and foam to give them dimension! we also decorated baseball hats with fabric markers and puff paint. This is a great group of kids. I love them.

Today art camp day 2 was a great success! We made prints from our etching drawings on styrofoam- we were planning of making four squares but our artist Jack printed a story board. We learned how to use a brayer with ink and we learned how to write words like love backwards because printing is a mirror. We also drew some cards and decorated key chains! We also are working on a tshirt project, stay tuned. Thank you Katherine Polenberg for helping out and joining the fun!
