Do you think you can’t sew? Maybe because you were never taught???
What if the same is true for anxiety? We think we can’t learn to be at peace? But what if we could learn God’s path for living from a place of peace?

Everytime I create a bustle I marvel at how unique each dress and each bride (although occasionally I have identical gowns).
Initially the dresses are not a perfect fit (my job to make them fit!) For all of us - isn’t it so easy to think that if we don’t fit the mold, we are a misfit?
As I taught the middle school class at church yesterday we talked about the unique gifts each one is given to serve God. I remember thinking I had to fit a certain mold - certainly the creative gift of sewing was not something that fit the mold. It was a great opportunity to remind them, that those things which excite them, and give them joy - those things that they are good at - those are unique gifts that God gave to them for a purpose. Just as I design bustles for beauty and purpose - there are no misfits in the eye of the Creator.

What about you? Have you ever felt like a misfit? Remember you were created unique - with a special purpose!

Back home to the sewing machine ! After the PenCraft book awards . Which includes a family trip through some of the national parks out west.

📍also celebrating the blessings of homeschooling - because we don’t have to live by the school schedule this could also be part of my kids education! 😉

When your hands are busy, where are your thoughts ?
🧵Isaiah 26:3 is a wonderful reminder to keep our thoughts fixed on Him , rather than let our mind wander and worry…

The bride of Christ is the church- it is is desire that we (the church) be without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27) What a beautiful reminder that the steam and the heat are part of the purifying process.

A huge thank you to for a fabulous evening Saturday. Than you to the most wonderful friends who came along for the ride...

A huge thank you to for a fabulous evening Saturday. Than you to the most wonderful friends who came along for the ride. And the friend who came along to sing for the event, even though she had never sung for such an event before 💕 so thankful for all the amazing ladies !
It was truly a blessing to speak about some of my favorite topics, weaving the imagery of sewing into our secure attachment to the love of The Father.

Good Friday- the reminder… the imagery

Down went the needle. The picture before my eyes – He was buried. As He went down into the ground from sight. Up came the needle. He is risen. As He rose a secure stitch formed. As we enter in, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ stitches us to the Father. This is the picture of His perfect love. I am stitched to Him, with a stitch that can’t be broken.
This mystery is only available when we submit ourselves to being hidden. Colossians 3:3 reminds us that when we come to Christ, we die. We are hidden with Christ in God. Dead to fear. Dead to our natural thinking of planning and controlling. Dead to exalting our knowledge over His.
This is the motion of the needle. Down—we submit our thoughts. Up—we come up with His truth on our lips and filling our minds. The stitch is formed strengthening our connection of trust with the Father.
Peace comes as we let the full weight of His Life consume us in His love. You are loved. Hidden in His embrace. It is safe. Relax. Let go. Die so you can live.” (excerpt from Stitching Your Story Piece by Peace)
