PYOC is a revolutionary economic statement for Black America, to reclaim the wealth our ancestors built for free, redirecting our dollars into our communities, and creating a legacy of liberation, ownership, and self-sufficiency for generations to come.

Black America is not longer operating within a protected market. We are competing in an open economy with no homeland manufacturing giant and not sector of our own. We cannot expect to compete as producers when we are intended to be the consumers only.

06/30/2026

Black America was intended to consume and never produce. Consumers build economies for others, but never themselves.

The Black Heroes of the civil war should be remembered in every American household.

Black America is too reliant on celebrity culture. They exist to entertain and sometimes distract us. Never to liberate us. Our community efforts are much more reliable than celebrity charity.

Stereotype threat in Black students is one of the most documented and least discussed phenomena in American education — and if you went to a predominantly white school or had teachers who did not look like you there is a good chance you experienced it without ever having a name for it. It is the cognitive split that happens when a Black student is simultaneously trying to learn and trying to avoid confirming a negative stereotype about their entire race. The brain divides its working memory between the task and the threat — and comprehension suffers every time. Stanford psychologist Claude Steele documented it in 1995 and the research has been replicated hundreds of times since. How many of y'all went through school reading out loud perfectly but retaining nothing? Going through the motions instead of actually learning? That was not a you problem. That was a design problem. What do Black Americans spend money on? Who is watching the Black dollar and who is capturing it? Clearly, not us.

Chinatowns rebuilt after destruction. That's why they still exist today. Black Wall Streets integrated and were therefore destroyed.

Slaves were banned from reading when they discovered the power of literacy. Today, we are reaping the consequences of poor literacy rates. When we prioritize our own community, we prioritize education. We need to get back to that.

06/19/2026

Philanthropy is not liberation. Black celebrities cannot carry the weight of the community. Their efforts are usually not made with Black liberation in mind. We cannot rely on philanthropy to do the work that only we can sustain.

Financial literacy gap in Black schools is not accidental — high schools with more than 75 percent Black and Hispanic students are half as likely to offer a personal finance course as schools with fewer than 25 percent. Black financial literacy rates sit at 42 percent nationally. The schools serving Black children most are the least likely to teach them how money works. Wealthy white school districts teach personal finance as a graduation requirement. This is not a resource problem. It is a priority problem. And the priority was never Black economic independence.
