BEAUTY IN THE STRANGE
A Contemporary Gothic & Alternative Arts Exhibition
Meaningful art doesn’t have to follow convention.
The Hollow is bringing together photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, textile and wearable art, and immersive installations to explore beauty from unexpected perspectives.
Themes may include identity, memory, transformation, mortality, folklore, mythology, nature, spirituality, and personal history.
Our signature component, From Skin to Canvas: Tattooing as Contemporary Visual Art, celebrates tattooists as visual artists through original flash, drawings, paintings, concept designs, and professional photographs of completed tattoos. No tattooing services will take place.
Work inspired by The Hollow’s 2027 theme, Matriarchs, is encouraged—but the theme is not required to participate.
Established, emerging, and student artists are welcome, with particular outreach to Atlantic County and South Jersey artists. Submissions will be free, with artwork selected through juried review.
