This is the first high-quality yoga mat I ever bought, a B MAT Extra Long in Saffron Yellow.
It’s been with me everywhere. Camps, beaches, parks, rivers, a cave, backyard flower gardens, my living room, and the yoga studio. It’s been there for Facebook posts, TikToks, and Instagram Lives.
But more than that, it’s been with me. It’s been personal. Mine. Part of me.
It was once a beautiful, solid saffron yellow. These days, it bears the stains and marks of time well spent. Those marks hold memories of strength, fear, resilience, movement and stillness. Breakdowns and get-ups. Moments when I thought I couldn’t, and moments when I did.
And still, every time I need it, it’s there for me.
There’s something beautiful about the little things that quietly support us. The things that don't ask anything of us. They simply show up, again and again, and hold us while we find our way.
Maybe our practice is a little like that, too. We don't have to be pristine. We don't have to be untouched by life.
We just have to keep showing up.

My view from the mat this afternoon.
A beautiful sunny sky, big puffy clouds, and a maple tree reminding me that every season has its own kind of beauty.
I’ve been off the mat for a while. Life happens. Things happen. Sometimes we simply need to step away for a little while.
But last night, under the full moon, I came back. I found my way into a long, slow flow for the first time in a few months. I came back to the mat with the eclipse, and now I’m ready for the next steps on this journey.
Today is a new day. A beautiful sunny day full of new hopes, new opportunities, and new beginnings.
And maybe that’s the most important part of the practice: it’s okay to step away for a moment. What matters is that we come back to the mat.
One breath. One movement. One new beginning at a time.

If your body is asking for rest—listen.
That is yoga too. 💛

This is my view from the mat today.

Looking up at leaves instead of snowflakes, feeling warm, grounded, and very grateful.

Wobbling doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’re practicing. 🧘‍♀️

Notice. Breathe. Be kind.
Transformation doesn’t need to hurt to be real. 🌱

Daily Journaling Prompt

What sensations help bring me back to the present?

These daily journaling prompts aren’t assignments—they’re invitations. A place to pause, reflect, and notice what’s already within you. Write a little, write a lot, or simply sit with the question. Let curiosity lead you.
