When asked I usually tell my customers cash is the best payment option. But in the past week I have had two customers question why I prefer cash, one was a new customer and even went as far as to say "are you trying not to pay taxes?". Short answer NO! Somewhat longer answer is that I pay 2.95% on every credit card transaction. It may not seem much on a $15 shirt but when my orders are in the hundreds and sometimes in the thousands of dollars that's a large chunk of money coming out just for a credit card transaction. I said all of that to say this, cash is definitely the best form of payment and most businesses prefer to write a check over cash. I don't and never have wanted to place the credit card fees on to my customers.
