➡️ Sore Ni***es

Ni**le pain is a common reason for premature cessation of breastfeeding.

❗️We cannot let this happen.

😕 Unfortunately it is quite usual to suffer ni**le damage, specially during the first days after birth. Breastfeeding is not that simple and it might take time for you and your baby to find the right latch.

😊 Fortunately we have many resources to fix this.

FIRST => Ask a Lactation Consultant Check baby’s latch to the breast Check baby’s mouth Learn about different breastfeeding positions Check your letdown

👉🏼 It’s important to find what’s causing your sore ni**les to solve your exact problem and to avoid recurring situations.leche.league can help you find an LC.

SECOND => Natural Resources Breastmilk Fresh air Sunlight

THIRD => Products for Wound Care Hydrogel Pad Saline Spray Pure Lanolin Ointment Breast Shells Water Wipes

👉🏼 A cracked ni**le is a wound, and it has to be treated like that. Ask your doctor, your baby’s pediatrician or a lactation consultant for a specific treatment for you.

Breastfeeding shouldn’t hurt 🤱🏻

➡️ 10 things you need to know about postpartum but nobody tells you…

Postpartum has never been as first time moms expected it…

What is it really about?

Here, 10 important things you HAVE to know:

1. Whether vaginal birth or c-section, the area can remain swollen, irritated, sore or all together! 🥴
👉🏼 A comfortable ice pad like Ice Max will help (and will also absorb!).

2. Your belly won’t disappear overnight. It can even take months until you feel your body as “yours” again.
👉🏼 Be nice to yourself meanwhile ♥️

3. You cannot use toilet paper when going to the bathroom.
👉🏼 Use a peri bottle instead and a soft cotton towel.

4. You cannot use tampons or a menstrual cup during postpartum.
👉🏼 Just use catch-all pads with disposable underwear!

5. Yes, hemorrhoids cap appear.
👉🏼 Ask your doctor for a cream, spray, foam, or whatever may help you relieve the pain or discomfort.

6. You don’t have to prepare your ni**les for breastfeeding.
👉🏼 But it would be great to have a prenatal consultation with a Lactation Consultant.

7. Yes, can get really painful. Baby’s latch and milks’ firsts letdowns can hurt.
👉🏼 Contact a Lactation Consultant for personalized help.

8. Sleep deprivation is unmeasurable difficult 😞
👉🏼 Ask for help. Build a support system.
Being able to give clear messages is key ♥️

9. Hormones might take over every single cell of your body.
👉🏼 Take it easy, one step at a time, it won’t be forever.

10. A new baby transforms you, birth is the beginning of that new you.
👉🏼 Explore it and embrace it.

* We love for making visible how real postpartum looks like!

➡️ 5 Tips for a Successful Pumping Session

Breast pumping is not a task most moms enjoy, but for some reason (we all have different ones) you have to get it done. So lets better do it right and effective!

1- Relax and make yourself as comfortable as possible

👉🏼 If you are here is because you HAVE to pump, so take 5 deep breaths, leave the stress aside and connect with the moment.
Repeat until you feel calm.

2- Prepare everything you’ll need before, during and after pumping.

👉🏼 Get yourself some water and snacks.
Assemble the breast pump.
Leave your milk storage container clean and near.
Wipes, always have wipes around.
Look for pictures or videos of your LO if you need some stimulation.

3- Place the pump in the correct position on your breast

👉🏼 Your ni**le must be in the middle of the fl**ge hole, and the rest of the fl**ge should be in direct contact with your breast generating a vaccum effect.
No air can get through.
The correct size of the fl**ge is key.

4- Take your time and try as many times as you need

👉🏼 Getting nervous and anxious is the worst enemy.
As you start pumping regularly you will get to know you and how your process goes.
Untill you get there you will have to be patient! Take your time assembling the pump and placing it on your breast till you make it work.
Try as many times as you need until you are able to get that milk out!
(It’s never just place the pump and milk comes out as an open tap 😕)
Be-patient…

5- Don’t miss a session!

👉🏼 You will feel engorged and guilty!
Nobody wants that.
If you make it, at list for 5 minutes, you will feel relieved and proud of yourself!
Set alarms.

* These recommendations are valid for every type of breast pump.

💪🏼 you-can-do-this!

❗️If you need help, we can work together on a breast pumpimg schedule and organization!
Just leave me your message and i’ll get in touch 😉
