There’s still time to join the fun! Our summer camp weeks are coming up, and with only 6 students per day, kids get plenty of hands-on guidance and room to create. 💜

Kids ages 6–14 will sew, design, embellish, explore textile arts, and create projects they’ll be proud of! ✨

I have been trying to get this stubborn mystery stain/glue mark off my white studio chair for the LONGEST! 😩

Soap & water? Nope.
Heavy-duty cleaner? Nope.
Then hubby said, “Try a little nail polish remover.” 👀

Y’all… IT WORKED! 🙌🏾✨ The acetone finally started lifting what nothing else would!

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: Acetone is very strong and can damage, discolor, dry out, or remove the protective finish from faux leather and other surfaces. Always spot test in a hidden area first, use only a tiny amount, and use it sparingly as a last resort. I’m following mine with a protectant made for faux leather/vinyl to help protect the surface.

Sometimes hubby really does know best. 😂👏🏾

Look at her go! 🥹🧵💜

At just 6 years old, she’s learning how to thread the sewing machine—and what makes this moment so special is how much she already remembers on her own.

I’m there to guide her, encourage her, and help when she needs it… but SHE is doing the work. 🙌🏾

This is what I love about teaching children to sew. It’s not about rushing to finish a project. It’s about giving them the time and space to understand the process, practice the steps, and build real confidence along the way.

And she’s picking it up FAST! ✨

I can’t wait to welcome her and her sister back to the studio this Thursday for their next Private Sewing Experience for 2. 🦋🧵

Because little hands are capable of learning BIG skills. 💜

✨ THEY WORE THEIR ART! ✨
What an incredible two weeks with the talented young creatives of Wear Your Art Fashion & Sewing Camp at Carrollton Summer Programs! 🧵🎨👟
These amazing kids learned to sew, experimented with dyeing fabric using natural ingredients, embellished their own T-shirts, painted and customized sneakers and hats, illustrated fashion croquis, explored design, and brought their creative ideas to life.
And then… they took the runway! 💃🏽🕺🏽✨
Watching them proudly show off their creations was the perfect ending to an unforgettable program. I am SO proud of their creativity, confidence, hard work, and willingness to try something new.
A huge thank you to Carrollton Summer Programs for the opportunity to share my love of fashion, sewing, textile arts, and creativity with such an amazing group of young designers. 💜
The future of fashion is creative, confident, and fearless… and these kids are just getting started! ✂️🧵✨

TODAY’S THE DAY! 🎉✨

In less than 2 hours, our young designers will take the runway for the Carrollton Wear Your Art™ Fashion Show! 🧵🎨👟

For the past two weeks they’ve dreamed, designed, painted, stitched, embellished, and created with incredible heart. Today they get to share it all with their families.

I’m beyond proud of every single one of them. ❤️

One of the BIGGEST lessons beginner sewists have to learn: YOU are in control of the machine. 😂🧵

Today, two of my students chose decorative stitches for their naturally dyed pillows. Stitch #53 and stitch #29.

The stitches started piling up in the same spot… and instead of stopping, they just kept sewing. 😭😂

By the time they called Ms. Taide, we were WELL past a simple thread jam. I had to unscrew and remove both throat plates to rescue my machines. 😩🔧

But THIS is how they learn!

If something doesn’t look right, sound right, or feel right—STOP SEWING.

The machine will keep going as long as you tell it to. Learning when to stop is part of learning how to sew.

Today’s lesson: YOU control the machine. The machine does not control you. 💜🧵
