It's hard for me to say exactly when gardening stopped being a healthy hobby and became an addiction. One day I'm planting a few pansies and the next thing I know I've got charge accounts at all my local nurseries; all over my credit limit; losing my dirty fingernails; ticketed for watering at midnight; and all my friends call me the Garden Hoe ! How can you tell if you're a normal healthy gardene

r or have crossed the line into Plants Anonymous? Remember there is no cure... just more plants

Plants Anonymous was founded by me and my mom our "Head Hoe" in Missoula, Montana, known locally as "The Garden City." We saw the need to spread some Green Love and form an organization to help other plant addicts with their gardening addictions. Its our goal to expand this organization and form an and entire community of "Plantaholics."

It’s often said that gardening is therapeutic, but when you’ve got a “plantaholic” diagnosis, it’s more than just a hobby—it’s a lifeline. There’s something incredibly soothing about surrounding ourselves with plants. Whether they’re sitting in every corner of our home or filling the garden with lush greenery, plants provide comfort and joy that no other therapy can quite match.

A garden is not just a space for growing flowers and vegetables; it’s a sanctuary for our minds. Every time we care for our plants, we’re nurturing our own well-being. The act of planting, watering, and watching something grow offers a sense of fulfillment and connection to the world around us.

So if being a “plantaholic” means nurturing both your plants and your soul, then count us in! After all, the best therapy doesn’t require a couch—it requires a little dirt and a lot of love. 🌿❤️
