Acid Lime is headed into its YouTube era!

After almost 4 years of making sewing content on Tik Tok, we’re testing out YouTube🪡
We will be making tutorials that will coincide with sewing kits we will be selling on our website. From tote bags to simple handmade garments.
As you all know I love to yap about fashion history, trends, and sustainability so naturally we will be making content geared towards that as well.

As I prep to make our first video, I’ve decided to ask our followers for their most unhinged sewing questions. Welcome to the tell all! This can be a question aimed at tailoring, crafting, sewing, or about fashion!

Before and after of our sweet, beautiful, perfect bride Lily!

Lily came in quite frantic with her gown. She had requested that the original square high neckline of the dress be altered to a plunging sweetheart neckline. As per slide 3 & 4 you can see that is simply not what was given! As a tailor it is always so important to me to be honest with my clients. After her consultation I told her, here is what I THINK I can do. Multiple fittings, a hem, and a gorgeous French bustle later her dream dress emerged.

It was so special to take her from day 1 to hearing her say the words “okay, I feel like a bride!”

Tailoring can be such a hard yet rewarding profession to begin with but especially in bridal. Getting to tailor for my friends and make them feel beautiful makes this job feel so much sweeter.

Our alterations and private lesson books are open for month as well. It is our busy season! If you’re looking to book, we recommend doing so ASAP.

Creating Stella Luna✨🪐

When we were approached with the concept of creating a “1960s flight attendant but of a space craft” I was… over the moon 🌙

Stella novas costume is based off a TRUE 1960s flight attendant costume. We adapted a 1960s set and used a pattern from Panam air to create the hat! Made from 100% gabardine wool in true comets fashion. Adorned with silver metallic piping, silver spandex gloves, and metal comets pins. All seams are 100% bias tape finished!

Things truly came to life when put the costume on and absolutely embodied Stella Luna!

Happy earth day! 🌎 ♻️

Got to deliver the most special project to a few weeks ago! This project was centered around finding creative ways to reuse a seemingly unusable fabric.

183 coin purses, 5 tote bags, lots of trial and error, and endless fights with vinyl later, ITS DONE!

We had the pleasure of constructing coin purses of varying sizes and designs out of the old Broadway banners displayed outside of the . These banners had seen their fair share of use and needed a new life! As some sewers may know stitching on vinyl is no easy feat. Special machines, thread, and needles are necessary! (Some of which we found out as we went along) Finding a way to streamline and produce close to 200 of these guys really made our brains grow. We’re so thankful for this opportunity!

Here’s what we’re rockin with this month!

Machine Scaries-
When: April 23rd 5:45-7:45 PM
What: Learn machine basics whilst making the cutest machine sewn book mark. Great for absolute beginners or those wanting a quick refresh on their skills.
Price: $40

Alterations workshop-
When: April 19th 1-4 PM
What: students bring 2-4 items they would like to tailor and the instructor walks them through the process. Best for students with prior experience but beginners are welcome (you just might not get as much done!)
Price: $60!!!

Ceramic buttons workshop-
When: May 8th 6-8:30 PM
What: You’ll learn the basics of ceramics while creating at least four unique buttons. You will also be guided on how to sew them on.
Price: $35!!!

Alteration books-
Our books will officially open back up this month! Get in those spring cleaning alterations or book your appointment for bridal while you can!

Studio time- scheduling for studio time for April is now open! For just $10 an hour you can come in and use our space, machines, and notions. This however is not guided instruction time.

Semi private lessons-
We recently introduced these lessons where you may bring 2-3 students together to learn a craft as a group! Offered in knitting, sewing, embroidery, and crochet.
