Let’s talk shapewear!

Here’s some pointers to get you started. The most important thing to do is make a decision on shapewear vs no shapewear before fittings.

If you find yourself in the position of this bride, considering it after fittings. Try the things suggested in this video plus consider buying multiple sizes of shapewear to find what smooths without compressing and changing your measurements.

Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall during one of our fittings, well stay tuned.

Here we have our client trying on a mock-up of her custom wedding officiant outfit. The mock-up is important because it allows us to see the dress and see the fit before we cut out the actual fabric of the dress. In this case, we are making her dress in a silk gazar, and we just want to make sure that we have our pattern 100% correct before cutting out the beautiful fabric.

This process is a part of our white-glove service, where we do a mock-up. We also do multiple fittings of your dress to make sure that we get that fit perfect. So, it’s really almost like taking the custom design process and merging it with the alterations process. You’re just doing it all together. So, this is a step above and beyond our standard process of making your dress according to your measurements.

In this video specifically, we are discussing whether or not we’re going to have princess seam, or darts along the skirt of the dress.

I was put on this earth to inspire change, to see a need and make a difference. One way I’ve done that is to make sure no bride ever has to shrink herself to fit into a dress. Not “size up and take it in.” Not “lose ten pounds before your fitting.” Every gown that leaves our Nashville studio is built around the woman wearing it…her measurements, her proportions, her body as it is right now. That’s not a marketing line. That’s how I learned to design, the hard way, when I couldn’t find a wedding dress that fit the body I actually had. So I made my own. And then I made it my life’s work to make sure other brides never have to.
